The Winehouse family recently arrived upon the six-month anniversary of daughter Amy Winehouse‘s death. And although some people suggested that her father was cashing in on Amy’s death with a tell-all book, his reactions to a Jean Paul Gaultier fashion show in Paris suggest otherwise. The designer paid homage to the singer with a very Winehouse-inspired look as models sauntered down the runway in tall black beehives and winged eyes to her music. However, Mitch Winehouse found the tribute far from endearing.
Following the fashion show, the grieving father tweeted: More »

Since August, Amy Winehouse‘s family has maintained that their daughter died of alcohol withdrawal, which lends her death something of a saintly air: The singer, long besieged by problems with addiction, left this world fighting those damaging habits.
Except, today an inquest ruled that Winehouse actually died of alcohol poisoning, her blood alcohol levels having clocked in at more than five times the legal limit for driving. More »

During the MTV VMAs preshow, #whatwillgagawear emerged as the top trending topic on Twitter: After all, how was Lady Gaga going to follow up last year’s meat dress?
…Apparently, by sauntering in as her alter-ego Jo Calderone, ranting about being in a relationship with Gaga, and jumping into a Footloose/Grease-inspired dance with a bunch of greaser lookalikes. We read at least five better predictions on Twitter in the hour leading up to Gaga’s lackluster performance. Here’s what we wish she’d come out as. More »
These guys either have no respect for the dead, or plenty of it and want to protect Amy Winehouse from beyond the grave. It’s really hard to read this photo. When I first heard that Winehouse’s bodyguards were snapped posing with the box containing her ashes at her funeral, I assumed that they were dicking around and trivializing her death. But it’s actually a very solemn photo, and seems to be almost a tribute. More »

Police found Amy Winehouse dead at her apartment in London earlier today; though the authorities are calling her death “unexplained,” rumors buzz that it was a drug overdose. Worst. Concert. Ever. Amy Winehouse‘s show last night in Belgrade was an epic fail. The “sober” singer showed up more than an hour late, was obviously drunk, and forgot the lyrics to her songs. Oh, Amy, you told us that you were trouble, we know that you’re no good. More »

This has been the week of terrible music, hasn’t it guys? Between MC Hammer – excuse us, King Hammer – dissing Jay-Z in his video “Better Run Run” (which in no way is a bid for relevance and is totally based on an actual beef) and Amy Winehouse‘s slurpy cover of “It’s My Party,” we’re having a really hard time deciding how to make our ears bleed this morning. Won’t you help us make this terrible, Saw-like choice where either option ends up with us cutting off our own heads”? More »
