Friends with Benefits boasts an impressive cast, many of whom have worked together before. In fact, three of the members starred in one of Saturday Night Live‘s greatest Digital Shorts of the last few years: “Motherlover,” the 2009 ode to porking your best friend’s mom in lieu of a proper Mother’s Day gift. You may not have noticed the alignment of these stars since Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg aren’t sporting fake beards and jauntily-perched sunglasses, but Patricia Clarkson seems to be channeling her naughty mom in playing Mila Kunis‘ kinky madre with her “bad little pony” lover Aubrey. ‘Fast Five’ Is Actually a Love Story Between The Rock and Vin Diesel
I really enjoyed Fast Five, despite having not seen the other four Fast the Furious movies. It was, simply, a redblooded, hearty action flick with insane car stunts and giggle-worthy dialogue. And over the course of the jam-packed 130 minutes, I found myself adding another layer: I decided that there was a sordid love affair going on between the characters played by Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. New ‘Friends with Benefits’ Trailer Continues to Convince Us That It’ll Be Way Better Than ‘No Strings Attached’
It’s a good thing that the Natalie Portman/Ashton Kutcher take on emotionally-uncomplicated sex, No Strings Attached, came out in January, because it wouldn’t have stood a chance next to the Mila Kunis/Justin Timberlake competitor Friends with Benefits. Maybe it’s the fact that it has the more blunt, self-assured title. The supporting cast — Emma Stone as Timberlake’s ex, Patricia Clarkson playing Kunis’ quirky, S&M-practicing mom — is a big draw. And unlike Strings, where part of the awkwardness came from Portman and Kutcher’s characters getting in touch every few years, When Harry Met Sally-style, Timberlake and Kunis’ characters seem to be actual friends who are attracted to each other.
