In Wednesday night’s thrilling penultimate episode of America’s Next Top Model All Stars, we learned what vengeful goddess Tyra’s endgame really was—why she assembled these familiar faces and spirited them away to the enchanted island of Crete. America’s Next Top Model All Stars Recap: The Crete Socialite
Dominique began Wednesday night’s episode of Top Model All Stars with, “It’s an amazing feeling to get the best photo. Since my cycle, I’ve grown a lot.” If only Dominique watched this show–she’d have known she was guaranteeing herself an elimination. On the other hand, I really dug her positivity. It was a nice contrast to Angelea, who railed against Dominique’s dullness. (Uh, she looks like a man. What’s dull about that?) And Lisa, who noted, “My biggest competition is Allison. She blinks and they freak out.” That’s because we know Allison’s blink is just a prelude to Allison opening her giant fucking eyes. I think it’s normal to get excited. More »

Every once in a while, America’s Next Top Model is so batshit, I have very little to say about it. What can I add to an episode in which the contestants were forced to make “viral” videos? (I put “viral” in quotes, because they didn’t actually make viral videos. Relatedly, Tyra Banks doesn’t know what “viral” means.) The entire conceit was absurd, and I love how this was presented as a reasonable challenge and not something insane Tyra cooked up while smoking the finest “pot ledom.” More »

In case you missed last week’s episode of America’s Next Top Model All Stars, Isis is here to remind you that this is a competition. “It’s not safe for anybody,” she explained. “This time around I’m here to win it.” I have this theory that reality contestants are just given a list of clichés to read through, so that producers can later sprinkle them throughout the season. I don’t need to hear that the models want to win, because that is the basic premise of the show. What I need is to hear Allison say, “I know I’m very strange” while wearing a Muppet-y bear hat. Gallery And Fashion Show Report: Fashion Week’s First Plus-Size Event
I attended Fashion Week’s first-ever plus-size runway show on Wednesday, for the label OneStopPlus. Yesterday, I posted about the body-image insensitive Pretzel Crisps incident — and unfortunately that was not the event’s only weight-insensitive gaffe.
But first the celebs! Nikki Blonsky and Gabourey Sidibe were in attendance, along with Jersey Housewife Caroline Manzo and America’s Next Top Model winner Whitney Thompson. I was most excited to see Richard Schiff, who played White House staffer Toby Ziegler on The West Wing – so maybe that says something about my qualifications for covering a fashion show. More »
Stop Piling On ‘Smallest Waist In The World’ Model Ann
People love to hate Tyra Banks and they also love to hate skinny models; put the two together, and you get the growing public outrage over Tyra’s latest blunder, courtesy of a new trailer for America’s Next Top Model: So this model named Ann stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, and has an alarmingly, freakishly tiny waist. Video Of The Day: ‘ANTM’ Contestant Falls. Twice.
It’s okay to laugh at this video of an America’s Next Top Model contestant falling not once but twice as she walked the runway because we know she’s okay, right? Right, you guys? Not only is the clip hilarious, it is extra hilarious because the second fall is caused by a GIANT PENDULUM SLAMMING INTO HER. Sarah Murdoch Wants Plus-Sized Models on AusNTM
Sarah Murdoch, who was recently named the new host of Australia’s Next Top Model has made it clear she wants the show to take a stand against issues facing models and the fashion industry today. She wants to follow the footsteps of Tyra Banks and included plus-sized competitors on the Aussie version of the show.

Nigel Barker to Guest Star on Privileged
America’s Next Top Model judge Nigel Barker will play himself on the October 21 episode of the CW’s new show Privileged. The show is about two spoiled brat filthy-rich teenage twins, Rose and Sage Baker who need a tutor to get into Duke.

ANTM Spin-Off: Operation Fabulous
Reuters is reporting that CW has finally put an America’s Next Top Model spin-off in the works. The show, called Operation Fabulous stars J Alexander and Jay Manuel and will follow them as they travel the country looking for women in desperate need of makeovers.

ANTM 11.08 “Top Model 11 Confidential” Preview II
In this preview for next week’s episode of America’s Next Top Model (which is a recap episode!), they show us Sheena’s reaction to her makeover. The bleach they use to give her highlights causes her hair to fall out and, rightfully, this freaks her out. As painful as it looks, Sheena takes it better than most girls on ANTM ever has.
