Love Lessons From The Bachelor: Don’t Try To Embalm Your Date. Ever.
Last night on The Bachelor, four lucky ladies got to bring Brad Womack home to meet the parents. This was met with varying levels of success. For instance, Chantal O.’s dad bonded so well with Brad that it’s hard to imagine he’ll give anyone else the final rose (also there’s that tipoff we got before the show started.) Meanwhile, Emily and Ashley’s trips both had kinks. Emily’s daughter was slow to warm up to Brad, and Ashley’s family was a little too quick to take to Brad (plus her dad had a deer’s head in the basement. From past seasons on the show, this is easily the surest sign that a contender won’t make it to the final round).
But none of these visits could contend with Shawntel’s. For this trip, producers skipped her house and brought Brad directly to Shawntel’s place of business: a mausoleum. Unfazed by the weirdness of the situation, Shawntel gamely gave Brad a tour. And then proceeded to put him on the embalming table and give him a play by play of how to embalm a dead body.
Important courtship note ladies: Don’t ignore the fact that your job/hobby is weird when describing it to a man. Especially if it involves dead bodies. More »
