The schedule for some of the FREE summer concerts are starting to roll in, and so far so good. Here’s what I know so far (please note that there are ticketed shows at some of these venues this summer. Those listed here are all free):

Bell House Opening in Gowanus

Bell House Opening in Gowanus

Brooklyn is getting a new concert venue called the Bell House. Owned by the same folks that run Union Hall and Floyd, this new joint is in Gowanus, will be at 149 7th Street between 2nd & 3rd Avenues.
The storefront features a comfortable 150 capacity lounge which will be open seven nights a week as a friendly neighborhood bar and gathering space featuring beer from independent and local breweries.

So many venues host (mostly) free shows in the summertime, it’s hard to keep up. There’s McCarren Pool, Central Park, and Prospect Park. But then there’s also Castle Clinton in Battery Park, the Winter Garden at the World Financial Center, and the South Street Seaport.
