What makes this Maroon 5 parody “Moves Like Batman” so good are the geeky touches like Batman dancing and the “nanana” in the chorus. More »

I know we all had a lackluster reaction to the first shots of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman on the set of The Dark Knight Rises, but this image of her costume will satisfy all the naysayers: It’s tight leather; it’s functional (zipper) but sexy (heels). Most importantly, she has ears! More »
I have terrible, terrible news for you all: Your favorite fictional characters have begun to turn to lives of crime. Gone are the days of the ski mask; these days, robbers and crooks are donning Halloween costumes and character masks to carry out their evil deeds. What can we do to stop this horrible trend?! We must save the characters! More »
The planned Clue remake may have been nixed, but the reboot train keeps chugging forward, with 1986 robot classic Short Circuit next on the list. And once again, I am tearing my hair and yelling “noooooooooooo!” in response to a silly Hollywood decision. More »
Aww, Tom Hardy‘s covered up his pretty face in order to play the new villain in Christopher Nolan‘s third and final Batman film. Add the shaved head (or skull cap), and he’s virtually unrecognizable as Bane, a prisoner injected with a serum that makes him ultra-strong and driven mad with vengeance. But even though this set photo was released over the weekend, I’m not really feeling Bane yet. More »
Severus Snape? Alan Rickman. Marty McFly? Michael J. Fox. Vivian Ward? Julia Roberts. We all know and love these characters, and their actors’ portrayals of them were so perfect, it can be hard to imagine anyone else playing them. But guess what? If things had gone a little differently, Alan Rickman might not have landed Snape, Michael J. Fox may not have donned Marty’s orange vest, and Julia Roberts may not have become one of the world’s most well-known prostitutes. That’s right: Each of these characters were originally pitched to different actors, and in some cases, were even recast midway through shooting. What other iconic characters might have ended up being played by totally different actors? Read on to find out! More »
Still pissed off about the fearsome skyline in the Dark Knight Rises poster actually being a cute unicorn? Yeah, well I was last night, when I was at the theater, glimpsed the poster, and couldn’t see anything but. This image will not replace that trauma, but it will take away some of the sting. It’s Batman as he should be: Shadowy and cool. (And the cause of hand cramps!) More »
Last week, we brought you the hilarity that is “Trolling Saruman,” a glorious mashup of The Lord of the Rings and the infamous Trololo meme. And you know what? It occurs to us that lots of other pop culture fixtures could benefit from the Trololo treatment. Any readers out there handy with video editing want to get on these? More »
Oh my god, what is going on with the Dark Knight Rises poster? Why did we have to see this? Having an incredible superhero franchise sullied by a dumb, stupid unicorn is way more traumatizing that spotting a hidden penis in a Disney film. Get the heck out of there, stupid unicorn. You don’t belong in Gotham City.

Not all superheroes fight for the American way: The X-Men, for one, know that they’re despised by all of humanity. But there are a couple of caped crimefighters who are willing to lay down their lives for their country, or at least their city, to repay some sort of debt. So let’s compare four pro-American superheroes — Batman, Spider-Man, Superman, and Captain America — against American standards of self-sufficiency, loyalty, and relationships. I’ve tried my best not to include any canon from the comic books and go solely by the movies, so any generalizations or theories are supported by the visions of Christopher Nolan, Marc Webb, Sam Raimi, and others. Floss Magazine has confirmed the rumor swirling around the Internets that Adam West, the original TV Batman, was spotted on the set of The Dark Knight Rises and will make a cameo in the movie. If this is true, it raises a big question about the tone of the Batman franchise and whether Christopher Nolan is just throwing West a bone. More »
Christopher Nolan‘s Batman movies are rebooting everything about the franchise, including the Catwoman look. Hollywood Life reports that Anne Hathaway‘s costume for The Dark Knight Rises will draw its inspiration from the original comic book that introduced Batman’s sexy foe — down to night-vision goggles. Freaking out because the weekend’s almost over? Have no fear! We’ve got five simple words that will help: Keep Calm and Carry On. Originally created as a poster slogan by the British government during the Second World War, the saying was intended to raise the morale of the British public in the event of invasion. Luckily, it never had to be used, and after the war, it fell into obscurity. In 2000, though, the poster resurfaced in a second-hand bookstore in Northumberland– and thus, a meme was born! Since then, the phrase has shown up on everything from tea towels to coffee mugs (Fact: I have a vinyl decal of the words adorning my wall). Naturally, since its rediscovery, the creative masses on the interwebs have taken the poster’s design and come up with endless variations, often with hilarious pop culture themes. So, as the weekend draws to a close, I offer you this advice: Keep calm, carry on, and take a look at these other versions so you’ll know exactly what to do if a Dementor attacks you or if a vampire falls in love with you.
