Pool Parties to Continue, Another Summer Park Show Announced
As many of you know, the infamous JellyNYC summer Pool Parties were yet again in danger of not happening. Last summer the mostly free concert series were in danger of being discontinued after the venue they had been taking place for 3 years, McCarren Park Pool, was going to be under going construction to become a functioning pool again. Beach House Celebrated “Teen Dream” at The Bell House
Baltimore group Beach House released their third album, Teen Dream, (first on Sub Pop) this week and celebrated with a show at The Bell House in Brooklyn.
Singer/organ player Victoria Legrand and guitarist Alex Scally were joined by a drummer, who added a lot to the show. They played mostly from the new album, which is wonderful. Grizzly Bear and Beach House at Williamsburg Waterfront
JellyNYC’s final pool party of the summer happened yesterday at the Williamsburg Waterfront. The weather cooperated finally and it was a perfect summer day to be on the water. Vega opened the show, followed by Baltimore’s Beach House. Beach House were great, as usual, and even played some new material that was well-received.

Baltimore Round Robin: Feet Night
The second night of the Baltimore Round Robin at (le) Poisson Rouge took place on Saturday night and this time the theme was Feet Night. This meant that all the music was more rhythmic and generally dance-inducing. Somehow, this translated into moshing and crowd surfing. Baltimore Round Robin: Eyes Night
On Friday night Dan Deacon curated a night of Baltimore musicians playing in a round robin at (le) Poisson Rouge. What does that mean? It means there were a bunch of stages set up around the perimeter of the room and the audience was in the middle. Each of the 13 bands would play one song in one location and then the next band would immediately follow with another song.

Round Robin Adds Late Shows
The Baltimore Round Robin shows sold out both nights (October 17 & 18) here in NYC at (le) Poisson Rouge so they are adding another show each night–a late show at around midnight. CMJ Announces Initial Lineup
High Places @ Pitchfork Music Festival
CMJ, the annual music conference in New York akin to SXSW in Austin, has announced its initial lineup, which includes some previously announced shows. You can usually buy tickets to individual shows, or get a badge and hope to get in. If you register by August 19 you get 15% off the “all-access” badge (but sometimes the badge can’t get you in to certain shows anyway…). Here’s the lineup so far:

B-More Musicians Bringing Round Robin on Tour
This may be the coolest, most innovative music event to come around in a while…Dan Deacon and friends from Baltimore are touring the country to play two nights in various city of a “Round Robin” concert.
