In the days leading up to Star Wars Day, a mysterious message appeared on the official Star Wars site: “On May 4th, all will be revealed…” Clicking through this message led to a timer counting down to 6am on May 4th. Naturally, the megafans bombarded the site at 6am, which caused not only it, but also the Fox Movies site, to crash dramatically. Once the servers went back up, the news was somewhat underwhelming: In September of 2011, the two trilogies will be released on Blu-Ray (which we already knew), and hey look, here’s a video to watch with some exclusive imagery to tide you over til then! All of us here at Crushable got really excited when we heard that Best Buy was selling a “corset combo pack” of the Blu-ray release of Burlesque that included– you guessed it– a free corset. Burlesque! Corsets! Free! Awesome! But then More »
Oh man, we have a new favorite commercial to replace the “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” Life Call ad we thought was the funniest thing in the world when we were five. And this one also involves old people! Two cute elderly men reenact the Brad Pitt/Ed Norton ear-punching scene from Fight Club in this BLU-RAY ad. The reimagining supposedly backs up the tagline “Don’t mess with an original,” though we’d honestly rather watch two hours of David Fincher‘s attempts to work with geriatrics than the actual film. Spirit animal = sloth! More »

There’s some good news for any Brad Pitt fans who didn’t get a chance to catch Inglourious Basterds in theaters. The film is being released on DVD and Blu-Ray on Tuesday, December 15th, just in time for a good Christmas gift for anyone in your life who loves Brad – or for yourself!
I didn’t get to see it when it was in theaters this summer because I was out of town at the time, so I am really looking forward… More »
I was actually supposed to pick the winner for the blu-ray copy of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button on Friday but with all the post-Cannes excitement I completely forgot.
I picked the winner using Random.Org and got this comment number:

It’s a long weekend here in Canada, with Monday being Victoria Day. I thought that a great way to celebrate would be to kick it off with a giveaway for PittWatch readers!
Reader Ana is an incredibly generous soul – she accidentally ordered two copies of the Blu-Ray version of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Instead of sending one copy back to Amazon or giving it to someone she knows, she contacted me and offered it up… More »
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button had an excellent run at the box office ($329,809,326 worldwide, as per here) and ended up with numerous award nominations, even winning several of the technical/artistry awards. It’s not slowing down at all now – since its release on DVD and Blu-Ray, it has topped the home sales charts.

For those of you who are waiting to buy your own copy of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (or perhaps rent it to see it for the first time), don’t forget that it comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray May 5th.
A PR contact at Paramount was kind enough to contact me a few weeks ago to offer me an advance copy of the movie to watch and review. It came last week and I was finally able to… More »
