Two months ago, I got wind (it blew through the office, leaving answers in its wake) that Ke$ha would be covering “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” on a Bob Dylan tribute record. And so, as we often do in such situations, Kasey Anderson and I held a Gchat symposium on the matter. The track has finally been released, and it’s a somber, teary little thing that simply needs more discussion. So Kasey and I have come back for round two.

Big Bob Dylan fan? Me too. Big fan of pop singers covering Bob Dylan songs? Nope, me neither. Amnesty International (sooorry for saying bad things about a charity project) is releasing a Dylan cover record called Chimes of Freedom — and none other than glitterbreathed poptart Ke$ha will be contributing to it with a version of “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.” Alarmed, I reenlisted the Gchat account of musician and Dylan devotee Kasey Anderson. Last week we discovered that celebrities like to write novels. But you know what they like to write even more than novels? Children’s books! And what better way to introduce your wee ones to the hilarity of celebrity culture than with these 15 kid’s books penned by the likes of Ricky Gervais, Julianne Moore, Bob Dylan, and Perez Hilton? Here’s what I want to know: When is the Britney Spears children’s book about haircare appreciation happening? More »
Wow, this is brilliant! Our favorite Jimmy Fallon moments from his late night show are his amazing musical parodies (previously he gave us Neil Young’s interpretations of “Pants on the Ground” and “Whip My Hair”), and this Bob Dylan take on the Charles in Charge theme song does not disappoint. We command you to watch it immediately. More »

But let’s be honest – I know my days of the week and I especially know the days of the weekend. Who really cares about Monday-Thursday? This girl has got it right! We can’t hate on her! Oh…but there are more words to the song, and of course that video…Fun. Fun. Fun.

In its August issue, a special edition dedicated to “The Impossible,” Esquire has deemed it “impossible for Lindsay Lohan to go away. She will get a role, she will make a movie, she will be good, and the world will love her again. This can’t not happen.” As an homage to their list of impossible things, we decided to spin the idea and tailor it to our site.
And so it is:
It is impossible to dislike Sandra Bullock.

What do the Holy Father and Philippine prisoners have in common? A mutual love of “Thriller”! The Vatican’s official newspaper L’Osservatore Romano has released Pope Benedict XVI’s list of top songs he’d like to have with him on the desert island. And it doesn’t contain songs you’d necessarily expect. The list includes:
The Beatles’ “Revolver”
Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of The Moon” (which, fun fact, is still considered “Satan’s music” on an amazing variety of Web sites)
Oasis’s… More »
