New York Guitar Festival
In addition to the upcoming Winter Jazzfest, New York is also hosting the Guitar Festival starting this weekend and continuing through February (January 8-February 4). You can see the full schedule here, but below are some highlights, including shows from the awesome series Silent Films/Live Guitars. Dark Was the Night at Radio City Music Hall
Last year, Red Hot, which donates money to AIDS research, came out with their 20th compilation album, the amazing Dark Was the Night, featuring such great artists as David Byrne, Sharon Jones, Yeasayer, Bon Iver, and many others. If you don’t have the album I suggest you get it asap!

BJORK Playing Housing Works!

Bjork at the Glastonbury Festival 2007
The almost godlike Bjork will be playing a benefit show at the tiny Housing Works (300 capacity)–with Dirty Projectors!–on May 8. Tickets are expensive (cheapest is $100), but it is a benefit concert. Bon Iver and Animal Collective Return to NYC
Singer/songwriter Bon Iver is coming back to NYC and will be Town Hall December 10 and 11 and at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on December 12. Tickets are on sale now.
