Madeline in NYC This Week

Deliciously beautiful singer/songwriter Madeline released her third album, White Flag, back in March and has been on tour promoting it. Her strong but lilting vocals draw you in and the music is a beautiful complement. She is at Zebulon in Williamsburg tonight (Tuesday) and will be at Cinders Gallery (103 Havemeyer St., Williamsburg) for an all-ages acoustic set on Friday and Cake Shop on Saturday…. More »

Willamsburg Waterfront and Bruar Falls
There are two new music venues opening in Williamsburg. The first is Bruar Falls, a new bar/venue owned by the folks that own Cake Shop and Library Bar. It’s at 245 Grand St. in Williamsburg. They had a soft opening this weekend, but have a pretty full schedule coming up:

Indian Jewelry
Indian Jewelry is a band from Baltimore who have been around in various incarnations since 2002. They have just released their latest offering called Free Gold on We Are Free records and have been touring. They played Cake Shop last night and will be at Glasslands on Friday and at the big Todd P party at the Yard on July 4. The album is full of feedback and shoegazy songs that will make you contemplate the deeper meaning of life…. More »

NYC Popfest is happening June 12-15 at various venues around the city. You can buy a full festival pass for $60, or you can just show up and hope to get tickets at the door. Some venues will have advance tickets for sale, but most won’t. Here’s the schedule and I starred the bands I recommend:

Junior Revolution at Cake Shop
Awesome Ohioans Junior Revolution will be playing a show at Cake Shop tomorrow night with Stages and Stereos, promoting thir latest album, It’s A Process.
