A week ago, the new Computer Engineer Barbie made a surprise appearance at the Crushable office and changed our lives (and the ratio*) forever. In an effort to spread the holiday cheer, we asked you to name your favorite Barbie from your childhood for a chance to win the newest member of the tech workforce.

Well, we’ve sifted through the many entries and found our favorite. Read below to find the winning comment!

I would say my *favorite* Barbie is the one I carried with me through high school (until she was stolen, but later returned) and took to college is a mash-up Barbie. It’s a Hula Hair Barbie (orange/pink hair), wearing her bikini top, Workin’ Out Barbie’s suction-cup shoes, and another Barbie’s pink sweatpants. Her hair was awesome, and with her purloined shoes, she could walk almost anywhere! Since she had bendy-limbs, she could fit in my purse, and when I was bored in class, oh hey look it’s Barbie! She needs to learn math too…

Congrats Jess! You won us over with your creativity in Barbie style (we totally want a pick of the mash-up Barbie!). Not to mention what must have been your unending struggle with the doll to get her to pay attention in math class, a subject that Teen Talk Barbie once famously vocalized against.

Contest: Help Computer Engineer Barbie Change The Ratio

By now, you’ve probably put in your pre-order for this holiday’s hottest toy: Blogger Computer Engineer Barbie! Well we were lucky enough to score an extra, and we want to give it to you!

The world of computer tech is traditionally male-dominated, so we admire Barbie’s desire to break out of those stereotypes and change the ratio of men to women in the field. But we’re having some problems figuring out just what about this Barbie tells us she’s a computer engineer, as opposed to say, a pop-culture website editor, or perhaps just an M.I.T. undergrad. Take a look:

An engineer Call us backwards, but we kind of miss the simpler times, when Barbie wasn’t trying to be anything other than a girl with a dream house and lots of shoes, who didn’t have a care in the world. She didn’t have to worry if Tumblr crashed and David Karp was on her ass to fix it yesterday, or if Michael Arrington told her she can’t follow her dreams because she has a vagina.

Readers Respond: Ironic Tees Okay (So Send Us Yours!)

Last week we asked Crushable readers whether they would ever hit on a guy wearing one of those so-called ironic t-shirts (which we guess are ironic the same way Alanis‘ song was…is the irony in that we’re calling something ironic when really they’re just a lot of bad puns worn almost exclusively by neckbeards that are trying too hard?). Well, you definitely had your opinions:

While 19 percent of you said you’d never, ever talk to a guy wearing a “funny” t-shirt – even if it had a picture of the Golden Girls on it! – the other 81 percent either liked it when guys dressed exclusively from Zazzle.com, or thought it was acceptable depending on the shirt (like “Stay Golden,” definitely. I really should have talked to that dude).

So guys! We want you to dig through your closet and find that slogan t-shirt you’ve been hiding forevs but can’t bear to throw out, and send us a pic! Winners totally get bragging rights, AND a limited edition Get Him To The Greek t-shirt. Which you can wear ironically.

Behold! Here is one of the submissions we received from readers who, like us, are so obsessed with celebrities that they sometimes draw them. In this case, they love Johnny Depp (and who doesn’t, really?).
