‘America’s Next Top Model’ Getting Haute New Makeover For Cycle 15

America’s Next Top Model is getting a status update next season. In Cycle 15, the winner will get featured in Italian Vogue, a big leap in high-fashion cred from past spreads in Seventeen magazine. Did new judge Andre Leon Talley — Vogue’s flamboyant Editor-At-Large — have something to do with this?

“It’s so major and makes the pressure huge,” Top Model fixture Jay Manuel told the New York Post. “When we announced it to the girls, we couldn’t stop them from screaming. It’s so incredible that we’ve grown the show to a point where the fashion industry takes us seriously. Cycle one was this little show that could — Tyra wanted to give people this back door glimpse and cycle fifteen feels like a rebirth.”

Sounds like a good idea to us! Let the cattiness commence. Maybe the show will break out a REAL model this cycle around. Thoughts???

Nicole Fox Alexander McQueen Rumors Debunked

For the past few weeks, the internet has been buzzing with the rumor that Nicole Fox, winner of cycle 13 of America’s Next Top Model scored the Spring 2011 Alexander McQueen campaign. This rumor grew so big so fast that event the NY Post reported it.

However, it’s not true. Alexander McQueen confirmed to Stylelist that “the rumors are baseless.”

Nicole is a beautiful gal who has done some decent work since her stint on ANTM. I have no doubt she’ll have a successful career. However, it seems insane that people seriously though Alexander McQueen would hire a girl from reality television show– and a 5’7″ one at that!

Bakersfield.com Talks to Sundai Love

Sundai Love’s local website, Bakersfield.com, caught up with the cycle 13 contestant to see what she’s been up to since America’s Next Top Model aired. Sundai has gone back to school, but scored a contract with a small make-up brand. She had only nice things to say about Tyra, Jay and the judges, but admits that television is a bizarre world.

Being on the show had it’s good moments and bad:

The best part about being on the show is the big boost it gave me to help my career. The worst part would have to be being away from my loved ones and animals for so long.

Sundai is pretty funny in the interview and is taking the entire experience in stride. You can read the complete interview here.

Seventeen magazine released a video that went behind-the-scenes of Nicole Fox’s Seventeen photo shoot. The most recent America’s Next Top Model winner did a spread showcasing cute spring trends. Nicole chats about what it was like to win, living in the Top Model house.

She has so much personality in this short interview! It’s amazing how different she appeared on ANTM.

All About Laura Kirkpatrick’s NYC Apartment

Laura Kirkpatrick, the runner-up for Cycle 13 of America’s Next Top Model and fan favorite winner is settling into her NYC apartment and getting ready for the model life!

According to Rented Spaces, Laura will be living at 240 Central Park South. Studios typically go for $2,500 a month in the coveted pre-war building. The building’s landlord, James Korein, donated the prize to ANTM, requiring only a security deposit to hold the apartment.

The company who owns the building went for the offer because they saw it as an opportunity to make the building more attractive to younger tenants. The recession hit Manhattan’s rental market pretty hard and the landlord is hoping to recoup some of those losses with young tenants.

I hope Laura enjoys her time in New York and gets some modeling work.

AOL TV sat down for a few minutes with the most recent America’s Next Top Model winner, Nicole Fox! Nicole chatted about what it was like to win, taking the title from Laura, her future plans and more!

I love Nicole. She’s so vivacious and adorable. It’s too bad she didn’t show this side of her personality during the show.

Also, Nicole’s Wilhelmina portfolio is up to check out and she look GORGEOUS. The agency did a ton of test shots already so none of her ANTM work is in it. Check it out!

Tyra Banks “Apologizes” About Bi-Racial Photo Shoot

This week’s episode of The Tyra Banks Show was all about America’s Next Top Model. The audience was introduced to the final four, Erin, Jen, Laura and Nicole, and the Fan Favorite competition was introduced. Tyra also gave Rachel Echelberger a second chance (Remember – she was eliminated after the Wilhelmina challenge?) by announcing BMG Models wants to sign her.

The biggest moment of the episode came when Tyra attempted to explain the biracial photo shoot from this cycle. She explained her rationale behind the shoot and then apologized to anyone who found it offensive.

I want to be very clear: I, in no way, put my Top Models in blackface. I’m a black woman. I am proud. I love my people and the struggle that we have gone through continues and the last thing that I would ever do is be a part of something that degraded my race.

I’m sorry to anybody that watched ‘Top Model’ and was offended by the pictures because they didn’t understand the real story behind them or even if you did see the whole episode and you were still offended, I truly apologize because that is not my intention. My intention is to spread beauty and break down barriers.

Tyra must have known that this photo shoot would be controversial. Because of this, I find her apology disingenuous. Stand by what you did, or don’t. I still don’t get how changing the color of the girls’ skin celebrates all skin tones and races. Given Tyra’s reasoning for the shoot, a more appropriate photo shoot would be to uncover the contestants’ personal heritage and then style them to celebrate that.

What do you think? Was the photo shoot offensive? Was Tyra right in apologizing?

Laura Kirkpatrick wins Top Model Fan Favorite!

This cycle of America’s Next Top Model was the first to give out a fan favorite award. People could vote for any one of the top four finalists – Erin, Jennifer, Laura and Nicole. The winner of the vote was announced yesterday afternoon and it was runner-up, Laura Kirkpatrick!

Laura will be writing a post soon to talk about how winning fan favorite.

Congrats Laura! It’s well deserved, Laura was always sunny and positive on the show. As winner of fan favorite, Laura gets to spend six months rent-free in New York City as she pursues her modeling career!
