Erin Andrews On 'DWTS': Bimbo-fying?

Here’s an interesting take on the decision of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews to join the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars: she’s taking her peep-hole scandal one step further by launching herself “into the sphere of celebrity,” which is “becoming a greater draw than her journalism.”

Since being a female sports reporter is working in a man’s world, once she slaps on the sparkles and spandex she may never be taken seriously in her profession again. That may be true, but there’s also been a number of male pro athletes who have bravely donned glittery bell bottoms and dance shoes, with no detriment to their masculinity. It might be career suicide for Erin, or it might be exactly what she needs to take her fame to the next level. [Double X]

Handicapping The 'DWTS' Season 10 Cast

Several of the newly announced season 10 Dancing With the Stars cast members fall into some very well-worn, established roles. So what are their odds of winning?

The Olympian: Evan Lysacek

Of the nine previous winners, 1/3 were Olympians (and gold medal winners to boot. See: Shawn Johnson, Apolo Anton Ohno, and Kristi Yamaguci). We’re betting the grace of his skating routines will give him a good 45% chance of taking the whole thing.

The Pro Football Player: Chad Ochocinco

Emmitt Smith won his season, and fellow football players Jerry Rice, Warren Sapp, and Jason Taylor all came in second. Finishing first might be a bit of a stretch, but we think Chad will have at least a 50% chance of finishing in the top three.

The Nostalgia Entry: Shannen Doherty

Typically, the nostalgia-inducing contestants (usually ’90s TV stars) finish in the middle of the pack, like Tia Carrere or Melissa Joan Hart. However, Shannen’s Beverly Hills 90210 costars Ian Ziering and Jennie Garth both came in fourth, and Mario Lopez placed second. Combined with the advantage of being paired with Mark Ballas, who danced both Shawn and Kristi to victory, we think she’ll have a strong 25% chance.

The Musician: Nicole Scherzinger

Already being a dancer is a huge plus, along with being paired with Derek Hough. Past musician winners include champion Drew Lachey, runners-up Joey Fatone, Mel B, and Mya, and third place Joey McIntyre and Lance Bass. However, Nicole isn’t really known for her dancing. We’ll give her a 25% chance, too.

The rest of the cast is rounded out by astronaut Buzz Aldrin, actress Pamela Anderson, sportscaster Erin Andrews, mom of eight Kate Gosselin, comedian Niecy Nash, Bachelor Jake Pavelka, and soap star Aiden Turner.

Filling the role of “nice old dude cannon fodder” this season on Dancing With the Stars is Buzz Aldrin, who, we would like to reiterate, WALKED ON THE FREAKIN’ MOON. This is not Buzz’s first foray into the performing arts, however — Snoop Dogg produced a rap single for the former astronaut last year, no joke. Well, maybe a little bit of a joke — it was a video for Funny or Die.

Dina Lohan on "Dancing with the Stars"?

Is Dina Lohan being considered for the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars“?

Remember in the second-to-last episode of “Living Lohan” when Dina was ‘tricked’ into dancing for the show? Yeah, well, perhaps she has more aspirations to dance.

According to NY Mag, Dina Lohan dropped hints of the news while at the Halloween party with Ali. In what they describe as an “accidental-on-purpose slip” of news, Dina Lohan hinted that she’s “not allowed to say” if she’ll be on Dancing with the Stars or not. She will say, however, that she’s a fan of the show. To which she laughed, knowingly.

Ali Lohan chimed in that she thinks mom Dina could do well on the show.
