Summerstage’s final show was yesterday, Sunday August 17 and it was a doozie. Naomi Shelton and the Gospel Queens played first, followed by the Menahan Street Band, and finally by Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. Friday night the Beacon Theater was a funkalicious place. The Budos Band, with its fifteen-or-so members started off the night right with their soulful grooves. Then, the Dap Kings took the stage and introduced Sharon Jones, who was dressed for the occasion in a sparkly, flirty dress.
