CMJ, the awesome New York City festival a la Austin’s South by Southwest, is coming up next week, from Tuesday, October 20 to Saturday, October 24! In case you haven’t heard, an awesome new venue opened up in Williamsburg (61 Wythe Ave.) last month. Brooklyn Bowl is a bowling alley, has food from Blue Ribbon, and also hosts performances. Toinght there is a FREE show with Alberta Cross and Phonograph at 8 pm.

The New York Times has an article about the future of McCarren Park Pool…and how it seems like it will be turned back into a pool. Supposedly constructions starts this fall and they hope to open it for summer 2011. So, get your kicks in now. The Bowery Ballroom hosed two great singer/songwriters last night. Deer Tick opened, who are supposed to be great but I missed them. Did anyone catch them?
