I guess she’s not in rehab, after all. Demi Lovato, bullied for the way she looks, recently did a sexxxy photo shoot with Tyler Shields, who has seemingly devoted his life to photographing fallen starlets in b-movie poses. For the shoot, Demi chose the ever-subtle “sucking on a lollipop” trope, as if to say, “look at me now, bullies. Here I am, mimicking fellatio for the poor man’s Terry Richardson. There is literally nothing you can do to bring me down.” Click through for all the hott action.

Rumors have been swirling for a few weeks now that troubled Disney starlet, Demi Lovato, is going in and out of rehab to deal with some pretty serious addictions. On top of those rumors are rumors that her PR team keeps pulling her out of rehab to prove those rumors wrong. I know, I know, it’s a sick, twisted web of rumors that have been continuously denied by her PR team and simultaneously promoted by BlindGossip.com.

While it’s impossible for us to separate fact from fiction, let’s just err on the side of Hollywood cynicism and Disney’s fantastic child-star-transitioning-to-adult track record and assume Demi really is checking in and out of rehab.

And if we assume that, then we can also safely assume that her mother, Dianna Hart De La Garza, is throwing her hat in the ring to win the highly coveted title: Death be Damned, I’ll Most Definitely Sacrifice My Child(ren) to Make Money. Former contestants include: Kate Gosselin, Courtney Love and the current title holder, Dina Lohan. The prize? A highly coveted Us Weekly cover story and a 90% guarantee that you’ll one day be featured in either an E!‘s Worst Parents Ever countdown or a Lifetime movie. So yes, it’s totally worth it.

What do you need to even be in the running?

1. A former child star with a problem. Bear in mind, while any problem will get you accepted into the running, it definitely helps if the problem involves drugs, alcohol or a healthy combination of the two.

2. Denial. So much denial! Like take your denial and multiply it by infinity. Then you’ll almost have enough denial.

3. The attitude of Rehab, schmehab.

4. A spare child star. Because just in case the first one doesn’t get you enough headlines, it’s nice to have another (cough, cough Madison De La Garza) waiting in the wings.

But in all seriousness, really? C’mon Dianna. If Demi is as sick as all these rumors are claiming, she needs help — not headlines. Pull it together and you might just get a Mother’s Day card this year.

BlindGossip Called Out Demi Lovato, But Her Rep Denies She’s In Rehab [Updated]

Update: Demi’s reps have released several more statements to various outlets, including Perez Hilton, saying, “The story was fabricated. It is completely untrue.” Furthermore, BlindGossip added this update after speaking with Demi’s team:

Demi Lovato’s PR team has asked BG to let its readers know that, as of today, 1/25/2012, Demi Lovato is not a resident at an in-patient treatment center. They will not confirm her sobriety and will not be releasing any statements about her sobriety or her personal health. Demi will be publicly seen and photographed out in Los Angeles later today when she goes to a medical appointment.

We’ve updated our post to reflect these changes and Demi’s current situation. I’d like to point out, however, that the most interesting part of the story was not whether Demi was back in rehab, but the idea of a gossip site directly addressing the stars it’s writing about. I’ll be curious to see if more sites pick up that method in the future.

Now Demi Lovato quitting Twitter doesn’t seem so sudden: BlindGossip reports that the troubled Disney starlet has checked into Passages, a treatment center in Malibu, to get help for alcohol abuse and cocaine. But the most interesting facet of the story is that BlindGossip, a site that primarily publishes blind items about Hollywood stars, claims that they helped to get Demi back in rehab.

One of their blind items, published on January 19, took the unexpected tack of directly addressing the drug-addled starlet in question. After running through the relevant details about the actress spouting a sober message while doing coke at parties, BlindGossip wrote:

Let’s cut to the chase, and get more direct: Look, we know that you and your friends are reading this. It is absolute madness for you to think that this will end well. You are a beautiful and talented girl, but you ARE going to lose your fans and your career and probably your life if you keep this up.

Remember how upset one of your siblings was when someone picked on them? Do you realize how much more emotionally destroyed they would be if you actually died? You should think about that, because that is exactly where you are heading right now. We don’t care if you lie to people about what your problems are. We don’t care if you pretend that you are going on vacation. Just get yourself back into rehab (or treatment, if it makes you feel better to call it that), and get well. Now.

As they explained, they knew that Demi and her friends read BlindGossip religiously, so they figured that the best move was to call her out. And it worked: Demi was allegedly furious about them pulling her sister into it — see below — but it also got her friends to forward the blind item on to her parents/management.

Readers first started to catch on that it was Demi because of photos that surfaced the week prior of her and friends partying at Beachers Madhouse. Then there’s the sibling angle. Fans pointed out young actress Madison de la Garza, Demi’s half-sister through their mom. Madison plays one of Gabrielle Solis’ (Eva Longoria) overweight children on Desperate Housewives; in real life, she’s been bullied for her weight. She’s also appeared on two of Demi’s projects: Princess Protection Program and playing young Demi on Sonny with a Chance.

However, it should be noted that Demi’s rep has apparently denied the entire story, according to GossipCop. But we’re not sure if we can entirely believe the rep, since the statement is startlingly casual for a celebrity story: “It is a crock of shit.” That’s the kind of thing we’d expect from Demi’s Twitter… if she were still tweeting.

Like many young celebrities out there, Demi Lovato has learned the hard way that she needs to be careful what she tweets. Despite using her twitter account most of the time to spread messages of love and empowerment, she’s also gotten herself into a bit of trouble by tweeting things that made people wonder about her relationship troubles, her emotional problems, and her attitude towards Disney, the company that made her a star. Now, the starlet has wisely decided to cut off the drama at its source by taking a step back for a while:

This tweet came hot on the heels of one of her characteristically vague, speculation-baiting tweets:

How long this break will last is anyone’s guess, but I think celebs and non-celebs alike would do well to live by the maxim, “if you don’t have anything good to tweet, don’t tweet anything at all.”

The People’s Choice Awards were pretty much a bust last night. Between the questionable hairstyles on the ladies, a bald Robert Pattinson and a host who, well, we don’t even know how she landed this gig, it was boring. And that’s being kind. The only highlight, of course, was the few minutes they gave to everyone’s favorite award show host, the great Neil Patrick Harris.

On a side note, based on the winners, exactly what are the “people” who voted smoking? ‘Cause I’d like some.

Why So Much Unbrushed Hair At The People’s Choice Awards?

Overall the People’s Choice Awards 2012 were relatively boring. The highlight was all that unbrushed hair. We’re not knocking women who choose to wear their hair down, but if you’re going to do so, then at least brush it. We’re not being picky, we’re just being rational. FYI: brushes are your friends.

We get that the awards at this particular ceremony are chosen by “the people,” but how that’s any less important than the Golden Globes or Oscars is a mystery. An awards show is an awards show. So ladies, like for real, do your hair! Brushes and hair product are really cheap–we promise.

Troubled Disney Starlet (TM) Demi Lovato is known primarily among the non-tween set for being, well, troubled. We here at Crushable are generally rooting for her, so it worries us when she shows signs of distress…this time, via a tweeted missive to God.

Usually Disney is the one getting embarrassed by the actions of their teen stars, but in a major role reversal former Disney actress Demi Lovato is calling them out for being inappropriate.

Last night Demi tweeted “I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actress’ from the pressures of an EATING DISORDER and yet still make joke about that very disease….. #nice.” when she found out a character on the current Disney comedy Shake It Up had the line, “I could just eat you up, well if I ate.”

Disney is pulling both episodes that seemed to say starving is funny, with a PR rep tweeting, “We hear you & are pulling both episodes as quickly as possible & reevaluating them … It’s NEVER our intention to make light of eating disorders!”

It’s great Demi caught the line and they’re reacting, but I wonder why they’d put it in in the first place. On a channel watched mostly by pre-teens, not eating shouldn’t be used as a punch line, it should be incorporated into a PSA. Parents freak out about their children looking up to Hannah Montana then seeing Miley with a salvia bong, but maybe they should be worried about what kind of messages their kids are getting from the actually Disney scripts.

Demi Lovato is straight up turning herself into a set of magnetic refrigerator poetry. She’s got a new tattoo that says “faith” on her arm and it joins the words “stay” and “strong” which are inked onto her wrists.

Demi tweeted the photo above, along with the words, “Sometimes you gotta have a little bit of…..” We’d give her all the props in the world if she tattooed an entire George Michael song onto her body, but it looks like the title is all we’re going to get for now.

What’s next for Demi? “Hope”? “Strength”? “Tattoo”

Crushable Quoteable: Demi Lovato Thinks Her Wrist Scars Are Beautiful

Demi Lovato has had a rough go of things. The Disney star had a public fight with a backup dancer, went off to rehab, and emerged with a pair of tattoos on her wrists, which cover up scars from Demi’s cutting. The meaningful tats serve as a reminder for the singer. In an interview with Glamour, Demi got candid about her wounds:

“I think scars are like battle wounds—beautiful, in a way. They show what you’ve been through and how strong you are for coming out of it. My tattoos say “Stay strong.” “Stay” on one [wrist] and “strong” on the other. Now I’m able to look at them and be thankful for being alive. I think that I’ve been blessed over the past year to be able to start over.”

After treatment, Demi came out publicly and revealed that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. In the interview, Demi also talked about the things that helped her get better, which include support from the women and girls she met in treatment and and a ritual of prayer. She seems to be doing a lot better, so thumbs up to Demi.
