According to the blog Grub Street, Studio B is for sale for $1 million and $22,000 per month in rent. The club has a had a lot of trouble, what with their Greenpoint neighbors noise complaints and their illegal rooftop building this summer. They have events listed on their calendar through the end of the year, and then one event in January: Lindstrom on the 29th. Wonder if that will get moved?
Also, promoter Justine D announced that she is moving… More »

On Saturday I finally made out to P.S. 1 to check out their Warm Up party. Although the line was ridiculously long and it was insanely crowded, it was still a lot of fun.
The public farm exhibit (P.F. 1) in the courtyard is very cool, and the music by James Murphy and Pat Mahoney from DFA/ CD Soundsystem was awesome.
The exhibits inside the museum were part bizarre part interesting, but worth seeing. Plus, the apartment adjacent to the museum hosts… More »

So I’ve been really digging new Brooklyn band Hercules and Love Affair’s awesome single “Blind,” which features vocals by Antony Hegarty. Their Italo disco-inspired debut album comes out March 10 on DFA (also home to LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, and The Rapture) and I suspect it will blow up pretty big, considering all the attention they’re already getting from blogs like gorillavsbear (where you can check out some awesome remixes of “Blind”) and magazines like this month’s Fader. I see… More »
