In other Nick Jonas news, there is a rather eye opening interview on PEOPLE magazine from Diane Birch who toured with Nick Jonas & The Administration.

On the Nick Jonas fans: “I was really surprised at the craziness of the fans and how insane they are – and how genuinely sweet. They would spend hours in the freezing cold just to catch a glimpse of him.”

On Nick Jonas: “The first thing that really surprised me was how much of a leader and how much of a showman he was onstage. We spent a lot of time one day in his dressing room just playing around. I was playing keyboard and he was playing guitar and we were just trying to work out something, and that was pretty fun.”

On meeting Joe and Kevin: “They were so nice and down-to-earth. To just see how normal they are, it was really cool. We went to say goodbye and my boyfriend went to shake his hand and Joe gave him a hug. [It was] kind of awkward, and Joe was like, ‘We’re a hugging kind of family.’ It was really cute. Every time I saw them they were hugging and just really friendly.”

On meeting Selena Gomez: “She seemed really cool. I think she’s pretty close to the family.”

Sterling Knight took over Radio Disney today (we’ll have that posted later) and the song will be premiering on Radio Disney tonight at 7 PM.

“StarStruck” will premiere on Sunday, February 14 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel in the U.S. and shortly thereafter on Disney Channels Worldwide.

Filmed at landmark locations in the Los Angeles area including Malibu and Venice beach, Sunset Boulevard and Hollywood, the story begins as Jessica Olson and her family prepare for a trip to Los Angeles to visit her grandmother.   Eldest sister Sara is obsessed with pop singing sensation Christopher Wilde and is hoping to somehow catch a glimpse of him in L.A., but Jessica is more interested in seeing the city’s sights.

Meanwhile, a top Hollywood director is vying for Christopher to star in his next film but first must convince the producers that Christopher, who is a magnet for the media, has the right image for the movie.  To help the cause, the director asks Christopher to stay out of the gossip pages for awhile.
Soon after the Olsons arrive in Los Angeles, Sara learns that Christopher will be singing at Club Under 21 so she convinces Jessica to stake it out with her.  Eventually, Jessica meets Christopher the hard way, via a stage door accident that leaves her with a bruised head and Hollywood’s hottest pop star rushing her to the hospital.

The next day, Jessica feels as if she’s somehow smack in the middle of the kind of stuff that only ever happens in movies, but agrees when a smitten Christopher offers to be her personal tour guide, taking her on an exciting journey to popular Los Angeles tourist spots.  Amidst the fun, Christopher realizes that for the first time in a long time, he can relax and just be himself.  Jessica keeps Christopher’s ego in check but as the days goes by, she gets to know the real person behind the pop star and is surprised to find herself enjoying his company.  His best friend since childhood, Stubby, also chimes in to keep his friend’s head from getting too big.

Although he has a girlfriend in up and coming starlet Alexis Bender, Christopher feels a connection to Jessica.  He asks that she keep their adventure together a secret, fearing any story about them in the gossip press might ruin his chances of being in the movie.   When pictures surface of them together, Christopher publicly denies their friendship and must now decide what’s more important – being true to himself or becoming a movie star.

Commenting on the decision to do a side project, Nick said: “We’ve [Kevin, Joe and Nick] had long, honest conversations about it, and the truth is that this project and the Jonas Brothers can co-exist … Come mid-February, we’re going to be back in production with the TV show and we’ll be working on plans for another [Jonas Brothers] world tour next summer.”

The album “Who I Am” will be released February 2 on Hollywood Records. Nick’s band, The Administration, is made up of some of the world’s most accomplished musicians: John Fields on bass, Michael Bland on drums, Tommy Barbarella on keyboards (the latter two played in the New Power Generation). Guitarist David Ryan Harris played on the album and another former NPG member, guitarist Sonny Thompson, will join Nick & The Administration on tour.

The music video will reportedly have living portraits from real people shown throughout the video. Nick Jonas & The Administration will go on tour starting January 2, 2010 at the House of Blues in Dallas. They will wrap up their tour on January 30 at the Zellerbach Auditorium in Berkeley, CA. On January 15th, they will serve as the house band for the 15th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards.

January is going to be one very busy month for Nick Jonas & The Administration!

Disney Channel

When I spoke with Tiffany back in October, she mentioned her duet with Kermit and how excited she was. I can’t wait to hear it!

The music video for the yuletide ballad was produced by The Muppets Studio, with music written by Wesley Whatley, with lyrics by William Schermerhorn. It follows Kermit the Frog and Tiffany Thornton in the studio as they record their new Christmas song. During the recording process, Tiffany and Kermit add a few festive touches to the studio to get into the holiday spirit. The single from Walt Disney Records will be available digitally at various online retailers on Tuesday, December 8.
