Video: Ryan Gosling On Disneyland’s Army Of Killer Cats

Our secret boyfriend Ryan Gosling continues to make the talk show rounds promoting his new movie Drive, and last night it was Conan O’Brien‘s turn to be utterly charmed by him. The whole interview is really worth watching, but my favorite part came early on when Conan asked him about his relationship to Disneyworld. He’s often photographed there, you see, on dates or sometimes just by himself, eating cotton candy and enjoying the rides. Plus, believe it or not, he got his start on The Mickey Mouse Club, so perhaps he has some kind of pass to get in free for life?

Ryan explained his ambivalent feelings on Disney to Conan the only way he knew how, with an anecdote about Disney’s army of killer cats:

I have a real love-hate thing going on with Disney. It’s a slippery conversational slope… I’ll give you an example of why I love and hate them. I don’t know if this is true or not, and I do not want to get sued by Disney…There is a belief that Disney has been breeding an army of cats. And they’re not just ordinary cats. They have a special set of skills. They’re like commando cats and they live in a barracks — a cat barracks, I don’t know what you call it — and they live on the outskirts of the park. And at night, when they close the park under the cover of darkness, these cats descend into the park and they eat all the mice. Which is what I love about Disney because they’re so weird and they think of everything… But the thing that’s so messed up about it and why I hate them, is that the whole empire of Disney is built on the back of one mouse.

This might be the cutest jokey story he’s told yet, and he’s told a lot of cute ones. Will someone please make a Ryan Gosling commando cat Photoshop, like, yesterday? Because that would be the best thing the Internet has ever contained.

Tonight we finally say goodbye to the Gosselins, as Kate Plus 8 (formerly known as Jon and Kate Plus 8) has its series finale. Although Jon Gosselin proved himself to be a douchebag by cheating, we’ll never see Kate Gosselin as a victim thanks to the hours of shrill, neurotic footage that TLC has collected of her. Whether she’s going all evil clean-freak mother on her poor kids or slapping Jon during confessionals, Kate certainly made her mark on reality TV. (Something we noticed while combing through footage: Strangely, a lot of Kate’s freakouts have to do with food.)

Love Taps

Basically, you can accuse Kate of abusing anyone on this show — starting with husband Jon, who suffers the wrath of her “love taps.” Just look at her maniacal face while she’s doing it!

Husband = Dog

While Christmas shopping (start at 5:30), Kate orders Jon around, telling him first to stay in one aisle, then berating him for not “doing his job” and instead playing with the kids. Then she calls him like a dog — “Come here! Stay!” The worst part is how they laugh about it in the confessional, as if she hasn’t done anything wrong.

No Scooting!!

Kate gets furious when… wait for it… the kids roll around on the grass and stain their clothing! You would’ve thought one of them bashed their heads in, but no, it’s not about their fun level, it’s about how much she has to clean. (Come on, you know they must have an endorsement deal with Tide or somesuch.)

Ryan Gosling And Eva Mendes Went To Disneyland Together

Ryan Gosling, of the Making-Dreams-Come-True Goslings, is apparently dating his The Place Behind The Pines co-star Eva Mendes. I guess I’m obligated to make some joke about how disappointed I am that he is not dating any/all of us here at Crushable, but our boyfriends would probably be sad if that happened, so perhaps it’s for the best.

The 30-year-old dreamboat recently romanced the sophisticated 37-year-old lady by taking her to a place where everyone feels like they’re 12 again: Disneyland. According to Us Weekly, the two kissed, hugged, held hands, skipped, rode all the rides, and fed each other cotton candy and churros. (Is Eva introducing him to exciting new Latin American snacks?) Basically, they did everything you did with Ryan Gosling in your dreams last night, minus the really weird part.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson posted this trophy from his recent Disneyland visit to his Facebook page, because even celebrities are tickled by their theme-park candids. I think he had the unfair advantage (thanks to paparazzi) of anticipating the camera, but as the man himself would say, it doesn’t really matter.

Although Star Tours: The Adventure Continues opened in Disney World on May 20, Californians had to wait an additional two weeks before enjoying its Disneyland counterpart. But today, on this day of days, Disneyland’s spiffed-up Star Tours opened to much fanfare, and who else should be the one to knock down the “Opening Soon” sign but the mighty Sith Lord himself? He does, however, take a spin on the Teacups first. Classic.

On Monday, June 6, HGTV is premiering a new show called My Yard Goes Disney. It will join the ranks of the many, many home makeover shows out there, but what makes this one unique is that it is the only one that will take people’s yards and transform them into itty bitty version of Disneyland, or World, or Euro, or whatever. That’s right: You, too, can have your very own Disney theme park, conveniently located right in your backyard.

Whoa.

This is what the Bradburn family’s yard looks like post-makeover:

Yep. The tables and chairs are mushrooms. Giant, synthetic, Disney mushrooms. And that’s not all. There’s also a hand-powered train…

…which the kids can ride all the way to grandma’s house next door:

There’s also a Cinderella’s Coach-shaped cage with a swing inside it and a tipped-over teapot playhouse:

Now don’t get me wrong. I love Disney. I love the Disney Parks. I have spent my birthday every four years since the year I turned 16 on Disney property (mostly by accident, but that’s another story). But this? It strikes me as a bit excessive. Then again, I’m not a homeowner and I don’t have small children; maybe if I was and did (and also wasn’t a mostly-broke twenty-something), I’d want something like this for my kids to play around in. But maybe I wouldn’t– for me, so much of the allure of the Disney parks is actually goingthere, with all the perks and ridiculous hospitality they offer. Plus, I very much doubt they’d be able to build a functioning version of the Indiana Jones Adventure ride from Disneyland in my yard.

Lindsay & Sam at Disneyland

Lindsay Lohan & girlfriend Samantha Ronson opted for a day of fun yesterday. And no, that doesn’t mean shopping! The girls went with a group of friends to Disneyland!!

The video shows Lindsay dressed very casually for her day in the park. Lindsay & her friends came to the park prepared with umbrellas to block the photographers from taking Lindsay’s photos. However, you can see in the video that they still managed to get some shots of Lindsay while on the rides and looking in the stores.

The last time Lindsay was at Disneyland was also with Samantha Ronson in September (as pictured). The girls had a great time, even buying a set of mouse ears with Halloween themed designs.
