Questionable Choices: Evan Rachel Wood’s Leather Dress

Growing up, my parents had this pair of coffee mugs that were my favorite coffee mugs in the whole, wide world. Each one featured an anthropomorphized cat: the lady feline was dressed as a ballerina and the male stood against his car in the rain, a private eye’s overcoat and wide-brimmed hat tilted down over his eyes. This photo of Evan Rachel Wood at the Ides of March premiere reminds me very much of that second cat, which explains my overpowering urge to lift her up and sip hot chocolate from head.

The other thing I can’t stop thinking about when I look at this leather dress is how it must smell weird. A sensory reaction all ways round! Rachel, can I rub your hat?

This year at the Emmy Awards, it looks like the red carpet is matching the drapes! Oh my god, I am so sorry about that. What I’m trying to say is: a lot of stars wore bright red to the ceremony this year. Whose gown do you like best? I’m throwing my support behind Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev‘s strapless ensemble.

Update: Sofia Vergara and Kerry Washington are killing it as well.

Here Is a Photo of Jared Leto Peeing

Sorry.

But wait! As it turns out, it’s a photo of Jared Leto peeing in the bathroom of the Chateau Marmont.* So now I see that it’s an important cultural document, taken, of course, by none other than Terry Richardson.

Here’s what’s confusing to me about this. Jared has been wearing these knee-length frocks recently (see: the VMAs), and they definitely cover the area of the organ Jared ostensibly uses to pee. So how is he relieving himself here? Is there a special penis flap in his designer man-dress? Or perhaps during one of his 30-second trips to Mars, Jared learned how to crystalize his urine and release it through other parts of his body.

Sorry again.

*I threw up in that very place once. Sorry I’m wasting that life you worked very hard to give me, Mom and Dad.

I think that if I could steal anyone’s wardrobe and make it my own, it would be Charlotte Gainsbourg‘s. None of it would fit me (I am two feet tall), but I’d just open up my closets and stare at the beautiful dresses until they came to life and joined me in whimsical conversation. Guys, I just wrote a Michel Gondry movie!

Lady Gaga‘s cross-dressing turn as Jo Calderone at the VMAs made our list of the eight weirdest outfits to hit the stage Sunday nigh — although in terms of Gaga’s personal wardrobe bizarreness, the ensemble didn’t even rank. In fact, we thought Gaga looked just about as normal as we’ve ever seen. So does Our Lady of Gaga ever wear regular person clothing? It looks like she has at least a dozen times.
