‘Idol’ Should Draw On Celebs With Diabetes
The revelation last night that American Idol contestant Crystal Bowersox has diabetes gave us an idea: the show should use her illness to raise awareness of diabetes in the U.S. The show didn’t mention the disease, although Crystal briefly mentioned it on her Facebook page. Why should the show be so mum on the matter — especially when Idol is known form being interested in causes with its big ‘Idols Give Back’ specials.

This year American Idol is bringing back “Idol Gives Back” after last year’s hiatus (word was the recession was so bad that they didn’t feel right asking viewers to part with their money). I’m so glad they’re doing it again because I really enjoy it and it’s always such a great cause.

The fifth season of American Idol produced one of the biggest shocks I’d ever felt watching the show. Elliott Yamin’s Mother Passes Away
I’m very sad to announce that Elliott Yamin’s mother, Claudette, has passed away. Elliott, a finalist on American Idol’s fifth season, was very close to his mother who died last night at 65 years of age.
