Religious groups have also spoken out, saying that the show glorifies teen motherhood. With young celebrities like Bristol Palin and Jamie Lynn Spears becoming teen moms and shows like Secret Life of the American Teenager becoming big hits, discussion of teen motherhood in the media has never been more relevant. Jay Baruchel’s Big Year Continues With ‘Sorcerer’s Apprentice’

Hot off of promoting She’s Out Of Your League and How To Train Your Dragon (which was number 3 at the box office this weekend), Jay Baruchel appeared at WonderCon in San Francisco on Saturday with Nicholas Cage to support their upcoming blockbuster, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Based on one short cartoon in Disney’s Fantasia, Apprentice features Nick Cage as the sorcerer in the title and Jay as his apprentice (the part played by Mickey Mouse in the cartoon original). If How To Train Your Dragon taught us anything (we happened to see it this weekend in 3-D actually) it’s that Jay does well as a cartoon. So can he translate a cartoon character who doesn’t speak into a living, speaking live-action star? Check out the film’s second trailer below and leave your thoughts in the comments. We think Apprentice could be Jay’s second huge hit of 2010. It’s been a big year for him! Maybe now he will shave.
