Gerard Depardieu Gets Drunk, Urinates On Airplane Carpet

What is it with famous people and peeing on planes? Each story I hear is more brazen than the last. First, being on a plane caused Olympic skier Robert “Sandy” Vietze to pee on an 11-year-old girl (or rather, on the floor near her, but splashback totally counts), and now I hear tell of an even more famous guy peeing even more brazenly on a flight from Paris to Dublin. Sacré bleu!

According to one witness quoted by The New York Post, France’s most celebrated living actor drank too much vin and found himself with a full bladder as his plane taxied around waiting to be cleared for takeoff last night. “Je veux pisser, je veux pisser!” he yelled in an effort to get the attendants to let him go relieve himself, but alas, they explained, the doors were locked and he’d have to wait about fifteen minutes. So naturally, he just whipped it out and peed right there on the carpet in front of everyone. Gerard Depardieu knows not the meaning of “stage fright!” The plane was delayed an additional two hours while the pee got cleaned up, during which everyone took a nice, long, leisurely French supper. J/k, everyone was pissed.

Depardieu’s camp scrambled to defend him, saying he wasn’t drunk at all, and had even agreed to hold it at first. But once the plane was delayed an additional fifteen minutes, he had no choice but to try to urinate into a bottle “as privately as possible” on the crowded aircraft:

When some urine spilled onto the floor, Depardieu was “mortified,” according to a friend and offered to clean it up himself, but the crew decided to turn round and taxi back to the terminal, where he was escorted off the jet by ground crew, the friends said.

Will we ever know the truth behind Pissgate ’11? Is Depardieu embarrassed this story is making the rounds, or is he secretly kind of pleased with himself? One thing’s for certain: when a drunk and ornery French actor demands to use the loo, you fucking let him.

France officially bans burqa – France’s controversial move to ban burqas and veils that fully cover the face has officially been passed into law. Dammit, just because we had Improv Everywhere on our side, we got cocky about America’s place as the 1st world super power at blitzkrieg-ing innocent bystanders who are just trying to get to work without being held up by a production from Glee. But in our smugness, we forgot about the French. They created miming, for god’s sake, which is the original form of annoying people with your kooky “street art.” So hats off to whichever French group decided to take Queen’s “Bicycle” and turn it into an epic production at ‘la gare SNCF or wherever. I’m sure Marcel Marceau is smiling down u you from mime heaven, where he is holding up a large group of angels with a pantomime stop sign.

Brad Pitt returns to L.A. after quick visit to France

The other day, Brad Pitt was spotted flying into Los Angeles from Nice, France after a short visit across the ocean. Once Brad was stateside he had to be escorted by police and security to his car just to avoid a mob scene!

Although there’s no official word as to what he was doing overseas, the last time that Brad went to France by himself for a few days it was evidently to check on Miraval. Shortly after his visit, the whole family went over for the majority of the summer.

It stands to reason then that Brad may have been preparing Miraval for the return of his family. If they don’t have any set projects that are starting up right now – or in the near future – then there’s no reason why Brad, Angelina, and the Jolie-Pitt kids can’t just head out to France for a little while.

I love when Brad and Angelina take the kids to France. They do still get photographed but it’s usually from a respectful distance and they generally seem to enjoy more overall privacy. It seems that when they’re in Los Angeles, the paparazzi capital of the world, they almost find they can’t go out as often. When they’re in France it feels like they’re regularly out shopping or hitting the flea markets and that just sounds like a much more fun way to live.

I’ll be keeping an eye out for more details to see if Brad and Angelina are indeed returning to France for a little while!
