Phenomenal Handclap Band, a supergroup of sorts made up of two NY DJs and members from various bands at different times, including Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, TV on the Radio, Calla, Mooney Suzuki, Oakley Hall, Antibalas, Mark Ronson’s band and Sí Se. I saw them at CMJ and they are pretty great, grooving on a funky 70s vibe. They just got signed to Friendly Fires and are playing a FREE show at Southpaw tonight.
