Miley Cyrus Needs A Lesson In Gmail Security

With celebrity phone hacker Christopher Chaney arrested, another hacker has reached out to TMZ to share how laughably easy it was for him to hack into Miley Cyrus‘ Gmail account. Here’s a lesson in the Internet, Miley: Don’t use the name of your best friend (which the Internet knows) as your security question.

First he tracked down her Gmail name; though he doesn’t say what it is, I just did a quick Google search and came up with two possibilities through Yahoo! Answers already. Obviously that part won’t take long. When he tried to log in, he got a security question—the name of one of Miley’s girlfriends. All the hacker had to do was search which girl Miley’s been friends with the longest (could it have been Mandy, from their YouTube days?), and voila!

He tells TMZ, When I saw that, I couldn’t believe it. Neither could we! Not only is Miley from the generation that grew up with all the new tech, but she’s also a Disney superstar with millions of adoring preteen fans. It’s shocking that she could be so careless in setting up the security around her personal email.

Of course, this might sound like victim-blaming, like I’m not acknowledging the enormity of what the hacker did. Let me say—when all is said and done, of course this man shouldn’t have been delving into celebrities’ private accounts.

But at the same time, this is yet another sphere of their lives where celebs are obligated to have extra security. When every minute detail — from your childhood nickname to your various tattoos — are exhaustively detailed on Wikipedia and in magazine interviews, you have to keep some facts secret so that no one else can find them.

Basically, Google yourselves before you go inputting any of these personal details as security measures.

There’s always a chance that the hacker contacting TMZ is Chaney using another email address… but we can only hope he wouldn’t be that stupid.

These celebrity phone hackers sure are good at their game. The people behind the leaked nudes of Scarlett Johansson that were released this morning have apparently also gotten their hands on the files inside Mila Kunis‘ cell phone — and the contents are like totally sensational, you guys!

According to the hackers‘ finds, Mila was having herself quite a little dalliance with her Friends with Benefits co-star, Justin Timberlake. Evidently, her phone contains photos of Justin — in one, he’s shirtless on a bed and in another, he’s posing with a pair of ladies’ undies on his head. (No dicks in boxes, however.) The hackers also uncovered a string of text message exchanges betweent he former co-stars.

Another photo shows Mila in a bathtub, but only her head is visible. Which makes her a hell of a lot more savvy (or maybe just more demure) than Scarlett — who, by the way, is taking her case to The FBI.

Is it totally terrible of us that we hope that this news is legit? We just have such a big crush on Justin Timberlake and seeing him with ladythings on his head would probably make us faint. We will, of course, bring you those photos if and when they finally appear.

This morning, we posed a query as to whether or not you guys think the leaked nude photos of Scarlett Johansson are real, and it looks like most of you are convinced that the naked bits in question are in fact the body parts of Scar. One of you, a commenter named Sanja, went so far as to link us to a gallery of photos of ScarJo’s Los Angeles home, taken when she put the house up for sale last May.

Ha – would you look at that! It sure does seem like the wallpaper in the nude pic matches the wallpaper in Scarlett’s home. So then, more evidence to support this big and important mystery.

Great work, eagle-eyed Sanja. You’re a regular Encyclopedia Brown — who specializes in smut, of course.

The Punk’r got Punk’d! (Ashton Kutcher‘s never going to live that down, is he? For the best, we say!) Ashton was using unprotected WiFi at the TED Conference in Long Beach today, and someone hacked his account. After poking fun at AplusK, the hacker went on to tweet:

“P.S. This is for those young protesters around the world who deserve not to have their Facebook & Twitter accounts hacked like this. #SSL”

A socially conscious hacker! Sounds like TED to us.

Carrie Underwood – Hack Job!

American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, has been hacked! A staffer at TMZ.com, had been receiving emails from someone identifying themselves as Carrie through the mega star’s MySpace account.

The emails were said to contain invitations to listen to ringtones, lol. Also, the following message was sent out to fans from “Carrie”:

“Hey, this is Carrie Underwood. OK here’s the deal, I need EVERY SINGLE myspace friend to stop what he/she’s doing and GO HERE RIGHT NOW and put your cell # in. You’ll recieve every ringtone from every myspace artist (including MY favorites)… (sic).”

Carrie’s reps are aware of the situation and have changed the password.
