Yuck – I hope this isn’t true. Apparently, before the finale, Antonella Barba, Haley Scarnato and Gina Glocksen put messages up on their MySpace pages urging their friends to vote for Jordin Sparks. That is rough! I’m not sure why they would feel it’s appropriate to do to Blake Lewis with whom they must tour this summer. If they were from a different season, maybe, but I don’t think fellow cast-members should do this kind of… More »
Since it is latin week, I will stick with the theme and say “Hasta la vista, baby!”
Her Ho Patrol has obviously become the “No” Patrol. Haley Scarnato is going home. I think making the contestants sing after their elimination is cruel and in this case, I feel like I’ve been punished as well.
I must say that I agree with the bottom three. I think Jordin was a bit worse than Chris but Phil is getting on my last nerve. He… More »
Well, wasn’t tonight full of surprises! Let’s look at a recap of this evening’s performances.
Melinda Doolittle
Okay, I need to voice my frustration here. Melinda is a fantastic singer. Tonight, she delivered a good performance of “Sway.” That’s right, I said good – not great. Aside from looking like Martin Short with her dance moves, I’m totally tired of her not picking challenging songs. If she is going to consistently pick easy, repetitive tunes, she needs to blow me away -… More »
Yahoo! tracks the searching habits of Idol fans not only by who is being most searched, but also what, in particular, people are searching to find out. Let’s take a look.
Sanjaya is still the overall leader (can you believe the staying power of Antonella and Alaina?)
American Idol Leaders

2 Antonella Barba +4
3 Haley Scarnato +5
4 Blake Lewis – 2
5 Melinda Doolittle +1
6 Alaina Alexander – 1
7 Chris Richardson – 1
8 Gina Glocksen – 1

It’s 11:50pm, the van’s unpacked and I’m sitting in my recliner ready to go. I just got back in from a little family vacation to various locations in Ohio, and am finally getting a chance to sit down and watch the results show for American Idol. Don’t you just love having a DVR?
The show is starting off and they’re going back through the highlights of last night’s show. Lot’s of good performances, and better performances for many. Sadly, someone has… More »
I wasn’t a fan of most of the performances last night and I thought Gina did okay, (not great, but okay) but there is NO WAY that I thought she should go home tonight!!!! This is the first real shocker of the season for me and my throat is tender from screaming. Haley stayed, so the Ho Patrol must be alive and well (and voting…yuck). I hope to see her again.

Wow. Some have called this season’s contestants dull and unoriginal. Tonight might have been an example. Classics are classics and must be respected but, while almost everyone sang well enough, there was little that will keep me up tonight.
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO TELLING CONTESTANTS TO TAKE RISKS (Haley risked a “wardrobe malfunction” but that doesn’t count)?
My co-blogger, Jason, has done a fine job live-blogging the show tonight, so I’m just going to add my two cents about the performances.
Blake doesn’t have to beatbox every… More »
Will it be tonight? Will it finally happen and we can all be relieved when Sanjaya is voted off? He’s a joke of American Idol now. Granted, at this point he’s not much further above William Hung with regards to talent and respect on the show. When Ryan Seacrest is making jokes of you and coming out with his hair in a faux-hawk, something is definitely wrong here!
I’m looking forward to the live performance tonight from Gwen Stefani. Can’t wait… More »
The theme for tonight’s show is No Doubt music and the songs that inspired No Doubt. Gwen Stefani is a “pop superstar”. I’ve liked her music with their album “Tragic Kingdom”. I haven’t stayed as quite in touch with Gwen since she’s been on her solo stint, but have enjoyed the songs of hers that I have heard. I also like a couple of her songs that she’s done with Brian Setzer.
LaKisha Jones
She’s doing some Donna Summer song this evening…. More »
It’s time to be back to the two-hour length shows as they combine all 11 contestants into one show again. According to our latest poll, Sanjaya should be going home this week. He’s got 108 votes against him and Haley Scarnato has 17 right now.
The contestants come out Gina and Melinda got their haircut and Phil is bald, oh wait, that’s normal. It was pretty impressive in that Simon Cowell got quite the applause and screams when they announced his… More »
First things first before we talk about what’s happening this week. The important thing to talk about is what we’re doing this week. We’re voting Sanjaya off aren’t we? Please! Pretty please?!
Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s talk about this week on American Idol. What interesting thing will happen this week. We all know who I want to go home, but will Sanjaya pull another one out of his rear end with the help of VoteForTheWorst behind… More »
Gina Glocksen rocks out and shows us her individual style, which really sets herself apart from the other contestants.
Showing a little cleavage this evening, which seemed to be a popular strategy for the first big performance.
Jordin went for a very classy and polished look on Tuesday night’s performance. I think Jordin is a beautiful girl and has a personality and spirit about her to match.
LaKisha has some funny facial expressions when she sings but you quickly get over that when… More »
Now it’s Wednesday night and that means it’s time to watch the girls perform and see where it takes them this week. According to this week’s poll, you all feel like it should be Antonella Barba and Haley Scarnato to go home this week. Let’s get started and see how it goes.
First of all, why is Ryan Seacrest dressed like Mike Meyers as Deter from Saturday Night Live?

Football is a huge part of her life, not a surprise given… More »
For the second half of the evening, we’ll start it off with the daughter of the professional football player.
Jordin Sparks: 17 from Glendale, AZ
Another dedication to a sibling. This one goes out to her little brother. Oooh, not starting off to strongly yet. I’m not real familiar with this Christina Aguilerra song. Her performance is picking up a little bit, but still a little rocky in my opinion. She did much better last week and I think the judges are… More »
