Daniel Radcliffe Continues To Boggle Minds With His ‘Bad Boy’ Ways

With every child star, there comes a time when they want to shake their former good-kid image and show that yes, they do have some badass ways. Look at Lindsay Lohan, for example, she’s really proven that ‘good’ child stars can grow into, well, utter disasters. Now it’s Daniel Radcliffe’s turn.

Radcliffe has been making the rounds and saying things that prove he isn’t 100% Harry Potter after all. In fact, he’s just as messed up and complicated as the rest of us.

Because it clearly wasn’t enough to admit to being drunk on the set of Harry Potter and his preference in pubic hair on potential lovers, Radcliffe has now come clean and said that he has given the ol’ in-out to Harry Potter groupies. This may not be the 1970′s anymore and he may not be the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, but considering the fanaticism behind the Harry Potter franchise, there’s a good chance that Radcliffe has gotten more than his fair share of, how do I say this politely, poontang.

Daniel Radcliffe admitted to a drinking problem after he’d decided to quit, which made the news less likely to become a tabloid headline. Harry Potter has a drinking problem is infinitely more attention grabbing then Harry Potter had a drinking problem.

Now, however, in a promotional interview for his new movie The Woman in Black, Daniel has admitted that his drinking encroached on his work on the Harry Potter set; he’s actually come in for a shoot drunk. Daniel explained, “I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work … I can point to many scenes where I’m just gone. Dead behind the eyes.”

One of the big questions he leaves unanswered is which Potter films he shot smashed. He didn’t stop drinking until August of 2010, after the last filmed wrapped, meaning he could have been less than sober even as he battled it out with Lord Voldemort for the last time (and who could blame him, that movie was rough).

The legal age to buy alcohol in the UK in England is eighteen, so he could have easily been hiding his habit since the sixth film, but being underage doesn’t mean you can’t access alcohol. Was he tipsy as early as The Goblet of Fire, when he got long rebellious hair, or even The Prisoner of Azkaban when the three stars started looking like teens instead of kids? At any rate it’s great he realized he had a problem and was able to quit.

Like every fairly well off 20-something trying to find her way in the world, Emma Watson’s going to see a therapist to discuss her life’s woes and challenges. Unlike every fairly well off 20-something, Emma Watson’s seeing a therapist because it’s part of her possible new role in the film Your Voice in My Head.

The film revolves around the story of a young suicidal woman saved by her cancer-ridden psychiatrist and is being directed by four-time Harry Potter directing alum, David Yates. Throw in Snape playing the office receptionist and you have a full-blown Harry Potter spin-off. (Throw in anyone ever involved with Chelsea Handler and you have NBC’s new hit sitcom.)

According to the Huffington Post: United Kingdom, Emma’s following in Daniel Radcliffe’s lead and taking on darker and grittier roles in a presumed effort to avoid Harry Potter typecasting. While I understand that they don’t want to be remembered for the films that made them insanely famous and world beloved, I don’t understand how anything gets darker and grittier than the world of Harry Potter.

Let’s compare for a hot sec:

Which movie has a grittier location?

Your Voice in My Head: New York. Sure some parts are gross and dirty (wink face at the A train), but other parts are the 10 outrageously priced floors of Barney’s and the outrageously overcrowded that-omelette-better-be-egg-white brunch destinations.

Harry Potter 1-7ish: The Slytherin common room, the Forbidden Forest and Azkaban “home of souless humans” prison. Let`s not even get into the Dursley`s place.

Which movie has a scarier villain?

Your Voice in My Head: Your emotionally distressed self.

Harry Potter 1-7ish: The unkillable (no spoilers here kids) Voldermort.

Which movie has the darker storyline?

Your Voice in My Head: A troubled young woman must come to terms with her mental health.

Harry Potter 1-7ish: An emotionally abused orphan has to save the entire world from a magical sociopath.

So there you have it. I think we all can see the clear winner in this highly scientific comparison. While I wish Emma Watson all the luck in the world, I just want her to remember that she’ll never do anything darker or gritter than the work she did in the Harry Potter franchise.

The World Is Officially Out Of Whack: Snooki Might Be Preggers And She’s Talking Politics

Between Harry Potter admitting he likes a furry cooter and now news that maybe Snooki is knocked-up and she’s getting all political to boot, it’s safe to assume it’s the end of the world. Things are just not as they should be and I firmly expect to grow a third arm by the day’s end.

Everyone’s favorite orange meatball, Snooki took to Twitter to officially announce her un-endorsement of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. This is definitely important for the legions of Jersey Shore fans who think that Snooki and her fellow “buffoons” speak the word of god.

Her tweet to be exact was: “I will not be voting for Chris Christie. Love always, the ‘buffoons’ from that degrading Jersey Shore show.” Gov. Christie must be really rethinking his bid to run for governor again; if he doesn’t have Snooki’s vote, he has nothing. When you can’t even get the vote of woman who probably has never even voted nor can name the vice-president, you know your campaign is fucked. Seriously, he might as well just throw in the towel and move to Ohio where he can find himself a respectable job at a fast food chain and his career isn’t hinged on voters.

In addition to her new interest in politics, Star magazine is claiming that Snooki got herself preggers by her boyfriend Jionni LaValle. It’s hard to say what’s more terrifying: Snooki procreating and likely having a fetal alcohol syndrome bambino or her having to give up the sauce for a whole nine months. How does one survive so long without falling down drunk several times a week? I’ll tell you: they don’t.

Although we can confirm that Snooki’s tweet was obviously legit, the rumor of her pregnancy is still up in the air. Let’s just hope for the sake of humanity it is just a rumor, and that Snooki’s brief interest in politics is now behind her, because we really need to get this world back on track.

Because You Wanted To Know Harry Potter’s Preference For Pubic Hair

It’s always really nice when a celebrity is completely honest about what they prefer when it comes to pubic hair on potential lovers. Once this information is out, women can take the time to cater to that preference just in case they happen to get lucky with the celebrity in question.

And now thanks to a recent interview, we all know Harry Potter star, Daniel Radcliffe likes a nice big fur pie in which to play. As he told Heat magazine:

“This is way too much information, but I don’t like girls with nothing down there either. It freaks me out. You have to have something, otherwise it’s fucking creepy.”

Fucking creepy, eh? Well playing the same character for like a decade is creepy, in my humble opinion. Besides, the kid is fucking 22 years old, exactly how many hairy or non-hairy vaginas has he even seen? How did this even come up, is another question that’s swimming around in my brain? Was he asked this out-right? Is this the new hot interview question and I’m just the last to know?

My mind is about to implode in on itself with this new information — this information that I hoped to which I’d never be privy and now I am. Not only do I have to double up on my therapy sessions this week just to deal, but I’m also reminded that I need to book a Brazilian wax and stat. I will not conform to Harry Potter’s ideas on what’s appropriate pubic hair!

Daniel Radcliffe Kills One Fan Fantasy, Boosts Another

In this post-Potter movie world, fans have a few things to hold on to. Fan fiction, a possible trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, and the idea that HP stars Emma Watson, Daniel Racliffe and Rupert Grint are all friends in real life, constantly hanging around a non-magical fire, with Emma assuring her two best guy friends that they’re still totally more attractive than Matthew Lewis.

But now Daniel, on an interview jag for his upcoming movie The Woman in Black revealed he and Emma might be close, but Rupert is not part of the group. He explained, “Emma and I text all the time but Rupert and I never text each other, we never see each other.”

So the Rupert-Daniel meet ups will be limited to Harry Potter reunions and fans’ imaginations. Disappointing, but at least we know Daniel and Emma are texting buddies, and we can speculate what kind of messages they’re tapping out to each other.

Hey Dan, don’t listen to them, you were soooo much better on Broadway then that Glee kid!

Thanks Em, and I don’t know why everyone kept going on about that Michelle chick in My Week With Marilyn, you were totally the star! I’m still cuter than Matt, right?

It’s pretty incredible that it’s taken six years for a Twilight musical to hit the stage, but we’re glad that it’s a fan endeavor taking the plunge. The Internet is buzzing about Twilight: The Musical, a parody of Stephenie Meyer‘s books that’s modeled after tongue-in-cheek shows like Urinetown and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The official website promises that the show “examines our culture of obsession through the story of outsider Bella Swan who risks everthing when she embarks on a star-crossed romance with vampire Edward Cullen.”

Another likely influence is A Very Potter Musical, the passion project from University of Michigan that launched Darren Criss‘ career. After all, Lauren Lopez, who voiced Draco Malfoy in the parody, will be playing clairvoyant vampire Alice Cullen here. The show’s Facebook page reveals that the other cast members have performed in such beloved shows as Wicked, Next to Normal, and Rent.

Not only the actors involved, but the character names as well, have been drumming up interest: Harry Potter and Hermione Granger will be popping in. So maybe this musical is a larger commentary on the various pieces of fantasy fiction that renewed our generation’s interest in reading… as well as shirtless werewolves?

But before you get to thinking this’ll be some big Broadway debut, let me point out that TTM is emulating its predecessors’ grassroots origins: It’ll be a one-night staged reading in New York City on January 16, with proceeds going to the charity Blessings In A Backpack. (Tickets range from about $50-$70.)

Sorry Daniel Radcliffe, But Darren Criss Will Likely Improve How To Succeed

I love Daniel Radcliffe. He was an adorable tiny Harry Potter and a grew into an great teen HP. It’s also impressive he chose to make his stage debut, and big break from his image role as the star of Equus, which makes Harry/Malfoy slash fiction look like a nursery rhymes. But in every clip I saw of Daniel in the starring role in Broadway’s revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, he just seemed to fall flat. He’d reverted back to the eleven year old wizard: adorable. It looked like he was killing himself onstage, and while it’s wonderful he’s was giving it his all, the audience shouldn’t feel exhausted watching a performer.

Now, for three months this January Glee’s Darren Criss will be taking the lead role, and he’s getting some criticism too. The New York Times says Darren Criss of Glee Fills Daniel Radcliffe’s Shoes, but that’s barely what’s happening here.

Darren is being groomed to star in the show for a three week stint. And the producers are looking for a show for him to helm longer term on Broadway, because he is amazing at singing and dancing.

For example, here is the kind of criticism Darren gets from his director: “What you’re doing is almost too good.” Zing.

There are some obvious differences between Darren and Daniel, and all of them point to Darren being the victor in the battle of Broadway.

Daniel was in Harry Potter, the movie. Darren was in Harry Potter, the musical.

Darren’s stage credits pre-How to Succeed include musical classics like Fiddler on the Roof and The Music Man. Daniel’s include Equus, a dark straight play about blinding horses and bestiality.

Darren’s joining the cast straight from working on Glee, where he spends most screen time singing and dancing. Daniel’s singing has been limited to off-screen.

Daniel’s face is going to be on toilet paper, Darren’s, to the best of my knowledge, is not.

The last point isn’t really relevant to Darren’s victory, but the thought might depress Daniel all the more when he starts reading Darren’s reviews.

5 Facts About Tom Felton’s Girlfriend Jade Olivia

Not surprisingly, the Internet has rung in 2012 by ogling a pretty British brunette in a bikini. No, it’s not Pippa Middleton—this lovely lady is Tom Felton‘s girlfriend Jade Olivia (formerly known as Jade Gordon), who as Molly pointed out, looks a bit like Emily Blunt.

Tom and Jade have been together for a few years now, but we don’t know a thing about her! So after some sleuthy Google and Tumblr searches, here are the five facts we’ve compiled about the girl who won Draco Malfoy’s heart.

1. The two met through work: Jade was the Stunt Coordinator’s Assistant for the Harry Potter films. Tom told German magazine Bravo that it was a good thing they worked together, since the 14-hour shoots ensured that he wouldn’t see her unless they were both on-set!

2. Apparently she and Tom looked so good together that the Deathly Hallows producers were convinced that she must play the part of Draco’s wife, Astoria Greengrass, in the movie’s famous epilogue. But as Tom told the Leaky Cauldron back in 2010, Jade wasn’t convinced initially:

The producers actually came to me about six months ago and asked me, and I was like, OK, I’ll ask her. She was slightly reluctant but I pulled her arm and twisted it and then she was filming with me for three days at King’s Cross.

3. Before landing the role of Astoria Greengrass, Jade did some work as a Potter extra; in fact, that’s how she and Tom first crossed paths. He told Cosmopolitan, “The Slytherin boys and I used to play a game called Fit Extras. Then one day there was a stunning brunette with bright eyes who was looking at us. I didn’t do anything about it but it was, in fact, Jade.”

4. She has a pretty obsessive fan following, both haters and lovers. I haven’t been able to track down a Facebook page for her, though there are plenty that have been established in her name, with the similar goal of “showing my support for Jade and Tom.” Support that’s apparently necessary since there are more than a few hate blogs out there—sites where Tom’s fans post unflattering photos of Jade and rip her apart for her slim figure, her fashion, and her relationship with him.

I thought I was on to something when I came across a Formspring supposedly run by Jade, but according to Tumblr it’s another fake. Too bad, because there was a funny anecdote that I wish were true: The faker said that “Jade” had read a few of the Tom/Emma Watson fan fics since everyone seems to want those two to get together.

5. She’s also a songwriter’s muse, another reason to make fangirls hate her: Tom said in 2010 that he’s written songs about Jade on his guitar.

This pic on the right seems to be from some sort of photo booth deal that must’ve been at one of the premieres for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. Regardless, it’s pretty damn cute.

Tom Felton’s Vacation Pictures Are The New Year’s Best Discussion Pieces

There are a lot of things I learned from these pictures. First, Tom Felton’s girlfriend looks a lot like Emily Blunt. If a guy wears a striped tank top and coordinating swim trunks he’ll look like he’s wearing an old time bathing suit. And Malfoy looks old! Not in a Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson look how they’ve grown way, but legitimately aged.

The snap-shot was taken in Miami as Tom hung out with his girlfriend Jade Olivia (aka Draco’s wife glimpsed at the tail end of the final Potter movie, Astoria Greengrass). Greengrass? J.K. Rowling, much as I love her, must have really run out of names by the time she got to the epilogue.

I also learned a little about fashion from Jade Olivia. Apparently bathing suits can be accessorized with necklaces and bracelets. I normally pair mine with ratty gym shorts and a baseball cap.The more you know.
