Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy premiered on Lifetime last night and it was, in a word, awesome. Starring Hayden Panettiere as Amanda Knox and Marcia Gay Harden as Amanda’s mother Edda Mellas, (because Lifetime must have a contract that stipulates that Marcia Gay Harden play the mother in every movie.) The movie is told from a pretty impartial point of view; Amanda Knox is never shown confessing to the murders, but her apathy reveals a darker side that the Italian police and media found so troubling.
