So at the end of last night’s final episode of season 4 (Volume 5: Redemption), HEROES hints of where it is taking the show for next season… if… NBC renews the series.

But if the next season is written as well as last night’s season finale was, then I really have to say (again), HEROES will see better days!

So, here is the opening scene for next season’s volume 6 on HEROES, which is titled “Brave New World”:

The heroes breathe a sigh of relief, as they save New York and the world again. Sylar (Zachary Quinto) has a moment of clarity, and like a schoolboy who came up with the answer, excitedly tells Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) how satisfying it felt to control his abilities and not kill Doyle the Puppet Master (guest star David H. Lawrence XVII). But Peter wasn’t listening. Something else is going on. Something that can potentially destroy everything that specials have tried to protect for so long.

Claire (Hayden Panettiere) approaches her father Noah (Jack Coleman) and asks him what happens to Samuel (guest star Robert Knepper) now. Lauren (guest star Elizabeth Rohm) got in touch with their previous contacts and will take care of Samuel. I’m not sure exactly what that means. Is Samuel gone for good? But Claire was now more interested in what Lauren was telling the reporters who were present when Samuel started the earthquake – it was all an illusion, a special effects. But Claire has had enough. When reporters approached her father for comments on what happened, Claire took the attention, and told the reporters, “if you want to know what happened here tonight, keep your cameras on me.” And she began to climb the Ferris wheel.

What is Claire doing?

Noah cried “she’s going to break my heart.” Hiro and Ando stared in amazement. Peter stopped in his tracks. Only Sylar responded positively, “it’s a brave new world.”

Claire jumped from the ferris wheel as cameras followed her fall. She stood up, cracked her bones back into place, and amidst flashing bulbs and microphones at her face, “I’m Claire Bennet, and this is attempt number…. I’ve actually lost track.”

And my mind was immediately racing! This should be an exciting premise for HEROES Volume 6. What happens to specials when the world gets wind of their abilities? Experimentation? Abuse? Acceptance? Fascination? Fear? And a wild idea but equally electrifying – a new team of superheroes!

Traditionally, HEROES shows a sneak peek of the next volume at the end of the current one. But given the series’ uncertain future with NBC, I wasn’t sure how the show would end tonight. Well, let me just say that HEROES was at its finest! And if the episodes for next season are anything like this episode, then by all means we’re in for a great ride!

With a show like HEROES, one wonders how all the separate storylines will finally come together. Well, tonight’s finale of Volume 5: Redemption was mind-blowing and impressive! Peter and Sylar’s, Claire and Noah’s stories now intertwined. Even Hiro got his answers and “made his wrongs right”.

So, after Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) and Sylar (Zachary Quinto) escape from the nightmare of The Wall, they come face to face with the replicator man, who had overpowered Matt’s (Greg Grunberg) ability to control the mind. Sylar saves Matt’s life, and convinces him to give him a chance to redeem himself.

Elsewhere, Lauren (guest star Elizabeth Rohm) finds an empty lot where the carnival had been, but Noah (Jack Coleman) and Claire (Hayden Panettiere) are trapped thirty feet below ground. Noah asks Claire’s forgiveness and admits that his life was changed when she was given to his family as a child. It was an effective and dramatic farewell between Noah and Claire. As Noah runs out of air, Noah pleads with Claire to keep herself anonymous, to blend in and hide her abilities from the world. But Claire still thinks that people are going to accept her own kind, that people are different now than before. When Noah passes out, Claire panics and starts clawing the dirt! Water gushes in and Tracy (Ali Larter) appears! Don’t ask how exactly, but Tracy uses water to push Claire and Noah out above ground, where Lauren has a chopper waiting to take them to New York.

And don’t ask how – it was never explained – but Samuel (Robert Knepper) physically teleported the entire carnival and everyone in it, to Central Park New York City. Samuel pep-talks the Carnival family that this is the night that the world will know of their existence. Emma (guest star Deanne Bray) gets Samuel to reveal that he plans to kill thousands that night, but Doyle (guest star David H. Lawrence XVII) controls her like a puppet. Emma is forced to play her cello and lures people into the carnival.

Meanwhile, Hiro (Masi Oka) awakens and demonstrates to Ando that he is completely healed. Hiro finds a note from Charlie that she is in the same ward! When Hiro finally finds Charlie, she is an old woman at the end of her life! When Charlie explains that she was brought to 1944, Hiro offers to go back in time and “fix” everything. But Charlie tells him that she has lived a full life, and going back in time would erase all the wonderful memories and family that she loves. Hiro finally realizes his quest is over and the damsel has found her happy ending. Just in time, Ando (James Kyson Lee) tells Hiro of yet another adventure – Noah needs them in New York to stop Samuel Sullivan!

Claire, Noah, Peter and Sylar, Hiro and Ando now arrive at the carnival and prepare to stop Samuel from killing thousands and endanger the existence of all specials. Sylar stops Doyle from controlling Emma! To Doyle’s disbelief, Sylar declares that he is no longer a villain but a HERO! Sylar spares Doyle’s life and feels great about controlling his abilities!

So, Claire confronts the Carnival people and uncovers Samuel’s agenda. How he killed Joseph, who tried only to keep the family small to limit Samuel’s powers; how Samuel is using everyone to build up his own power. Once convinced by Claire, Edgar and Noah, the Carnies began leaving. In his anger, Samuel rushes to the front stage where carnival goers gathered, and began shaking the ground to swallow everyone!

Peter tackles Samuel, absorbs his abilities and challenges Samuel to a duel of earth-moving. Everyone around them scampers to escape from this earthquake. Just in time, Hiro gets supercharged by Ando and teleports everyone else – yes, all thousands of them – out of the Carnival and away from Samuel! Immediately, Samuel feels his powers disappear and the Butterfly Man is defeated.

And that’s the end of Volume 5: Redemption.

But it may not be the end of the story…. next Volume: “Brave New World”

But according to a source close to the actress, Hayden is so smitten by her new boyfriend, professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko, that she’s hoping for a wedding ring by the end of the year!  “Hayden is head over heels with Wladimir. She says he’s her dream man — tall, dark and handsome!”

This is what I’m talking about! This episode rocks! I love it that the entire episode was focused on two storylines only. It allowed the stories to flow perfectly. Though we were essentially watching two disconnected storylines, we know the stories are going to connect in the end, and makes this show extra special.

Right after Matt traps Sylar in his own mind, Peter attempts to bring Sylar out of the trap. Instead, Matt was sucked into the same nightmare that Sylar is living. In Sylar’s world, he has been there for three years already when in reality only three hours passed. Peter explains to Sylar that he must get out as there is no one else who can save Emma but him. Unfortunately, Peter becomes unsuccessful in getting them out using the powers he got from Matt, so they try to find another way out. They come across a tall brick wall, just like the wall that Matt built to trap Sylar and the reluctant companions work at breaking the wall down.

As the seeming years drag on, Peter and Sylar learn to tolerate one another. Peter learns that Sylar has truly repented from killing his brother and so many other people, but it was Peter who could not release the anger and hatred he feels for Sylar. After what seemed like years, Peter finally gives up holding on to his grudge, and the wall begins to break! Finally, Peter and Sylar get out of the mind trap, and realize only several hours has passed. Sylar asks Peter if their experience was less real, and Peter tells Sylar it’s time to save Emma.

Meanwhile at the Carnival, Samuel makes H.R.G. face his own past in hopes that Claire will turn against her own dad. Samuel uses Damien’s ability to “show memories”, and gave Claire a history lesson on her own father’s twisted past. Claire finds out that H.R.G. had a pregnant wife who was killed by a special. That tragedy led H.R.G. to accidentally kill a special as he tried to gather information about his wife’s killer. The Company got wind of H.R.G., and used him as one of their agents to help bag and tag other specials. Suddenly it made sense why Claire’s dad became who he is, but she wasn’t about to forsake her own father. Until Damien showed a recent memory that  involved H.R.G. threatening Claire. Samuel thought he could use that to get Claire to join his group. But Claire replied that no matter what her father did, she had felt loved and she would never turn her back on him. In his anger, Samuel sunk the trailer where H.R.G. was being held, trapping Claire and her father under 40 feet of rock and soil.

Next week, HEROES concludes volume 5 “Redemption” with it’s season finale ‘”It’s a Brave New World”.

It looks like Hayden and Wladimir have been seeing each other since September, 2009. Here is Hayden Panettiere and Vladimir Klitschko at the After Show Party of the WBC heavyweight title boxing match between Vitali Klitschko and Chris Arreola.

And this weekend, the new couple was seen at the opening night of the show ‘Best of Musical – Gala 2010′ at Color Line Arena stadium in Hamburg, Germany. Check out the gallery below!

Reportedly, HEROES’ star Zachary Quinto just signed up as the star of Steven Spielberg-directed biography of world-renowned compposer and pianist George Gershwin. Production is supposed to begin in April 2010, but already Quinto is getting dialogue and accent coaching. It looks like Steven Spielberg just found another actor he loves working with!

Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg) just made Sylar’s (Zachary Quinto) life a living hell. Matt trapped Sylar in his own mind alone for all eternity,  making Sylar’s worst nightmare a reality. Until Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) absorbed Matt’s power and attempted to bring Sylar out of the trap. Instead, Peter was sucked into the same nightmare that Sylar is living.

As for Claire (Hayden Panettiere) and her father Noah (Jack Coleman), well, it looks like they’re about to get a taste of Samuel’s ire!

HEROES gears up to its season finale with this Monday’s episode “The Wall”!

So will Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) make a hero out of Sylar yet? I’m not sure I’m ready to believe that. And what does Samuel (Robert Knepper) have on H.R.G (Jack Coleman) that can destroy the already-fragile relationship he has with Claire (Hayden  Panettiere) ? I mean, H.R.G. doesn’t exactly have the cleanest of records so there’s bound to be plenty from his past that Samuel can use, but from this summary it looks like it can potentially turn Claire against her dad!

I love and hate this episode of HEROES! OK, so first, let me share on the love. I think the episode title “The Art of Deception” was very cleverly for the storylines, and it was quite clever how the writers twisted the stories so that the end wasn’t quite what I expected!

Take Claire/H.R.G and Samuel for instance. Claire’s (Hayden Panettiere) intervention got her father almost killed, in her well-meaning intention to prevent disaster and protect the carnival people. Her prophesy – “these things don’t go down well” – ended up as an understatement. Samuel (Robert Knepper) was simply too clever for them all. It pure wicked opportunism that got him to turn the tables around in his favor, even after destroying a whole town and losing his people’s trust.

So after learning from Lauren about H.R.G.’s (Jack Coleman) plot to kill Samuel, Claire went back to the Carnival to warn Lydia (Dawn Olivieri) and perhaps protect everyone else. Claire tries to convince Samuel to turn himself in and to her surprise he did. Samuel played out a dramatic apology to his Carnies and a heroic effort to turn himself in, when someone immediately started shooting at the gathered crowd. Lydia was fatally wounded (not a random shot, we’re to learn later in the scene). As she lies dying in Samuel’s arms, Lydia finally learns that Samuel was behind everything. H.R.G was caught, even though he didn’t fire a single shot, Samuel regained his people’s confidence and rallied their anger toward revenge. Belatedly, Claire realizes her father was innocent, but it might be too late for her.

In a separate storyline, Sylar (Zachary Quinto) asked Matt (Greg Grunberg) to remove his powers, so he can have a normal life. Matt’s attempts were powerless until Sylar threatened to hurt Matt’s wife, Janice. But Matt didn’t even know if he can remove Sylar’s powers! So in a twist of deception, Matt tricks Sylar into burying his powers so deep inside his head that he can not get to it anymore. And he traps Sylar in his own mind, forever to be alone and alive.

Until, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) barges in and demands that Sylar be released from the mind-prison, so he can “help” Emma and save the world. Peter tries to use Matt’s powers and got himself inside Sylar’s head. Will Peter be trapped in there too?

It was quite a cool episode, actually. I love how the stories twisted so the viewer was kept guessing until the end. However, I thought there were some scenes that were lame, and some stories that makes one think “would real people react the same way?”!?!!!

Take for instance Claire’s story. Gretchen shouldn’t have been in the picture at all. That could have saved Claire embarrassment from looking stupid and immature! Gretchen questioned how Claire could know the Carnies quite well when she had been there only a day or two. But stubborn and reckless Claire didn’t listen to Gretchen and got herself and her dad into deeper trouble.
