Sylar becomes ‘Joker’. All traces of hope and the chance of a new life disappeared when Sylar learned that the Petrellis were not his real parents. Being a “hero” sounded too good to be true, and it was. And yet for Sylar, it wasn’t enough to accept that he is a monstrous killer; he wanted to prove that everyone else is the same as he is. Didn’t the Joker did the same? At the Company headquarters, Sylar baited and trapped Angela, Claire, HRG and Meredith along with the remaining Level 5 villains, testing their vulnerabilities and limits of humanity. Sylar taunted Claire about Noah and Angela’s scheming lies. Why should Claire save either one? Sylar injected Meredith with an adrenalin that jacked her system so much that she could not control her fire. And then he locked HRG in a cell with her to test how far Noah would go to save his own skin. But Noah would not shoot her. Claire came just in time to save Noah, but Meredith could not be saved. It was only unfortunate that the farewell between mother and daughter was hurried and forced. Sylar confronted Angela with the truth, and she could no longer hide her schemes from this villain. And yet though the matriarch was afraid for her life, she seemed to just wait for events to play out. And play it did, in her favor. Claire stabbed a piece of glass into Sylar’s nape, and the killer dropped dead. Was Sylar able to prove the kind of people Claire, Meredith, Noah and Angela were? Oh, I think so, although the evening’s surprise was Claire. She had it in her all along.

Who’s got the coolest powers now? Saving a powerful Hiro from the past took more than just speed and brains, but this was one of the cool surprises of the season. Daphne turned from villain to hero because someone cared enough to believe in her goodness. Matt didn’t get to use his powers to its full potential, but he was more heroic than ever, at least in the eyes of his new love interest. Ando proved how far he’s willing to go to save his friend. Daphne took Mohinder’s vial right out of his hands and offered it to Ando, and the coolest surprise happened. Ando acquired the powers of a super-charger – touching him can amp someone else’s powers. And that’s how they saved Hiro from his own father’s blade: Holding onto Ando, Daphne juiced her speed faster than the speed of light and went back into time and back again to the present.

Nathan is dark. I wasn’t too surprise that Nathan turned out like the way he did. He has always been weak and dark and he hasn’t completely changed since season 1. He was still easily manipulated by those he considered important. But because his own driving force is self-ambition, one can not predict his next move or alliance. And that’s what makes this character pivotal in the series. He’s not a good guy, but he will do good things to the point that it serves his purpose.

Nathan took the chance at fame when his father and Tracy suggested that the formula would right the world at the hands of a capable leader. Nothing was going to stand in his way, not even his own brother. A powerless Peter destroyed the formula with the help of unlikely heroes – the last villains of Level 5. Nathan tried to kill Peter when an uncontrolled fire trapped him. Peter didn’t hesitate to inject himself back with powers to save his brother. Unfortunately, Nathan confessed that he wouldn’t have done the same.

The next volume is even more intriguing. Nathan talks to the US President and proposes to round up everyone with superhuman abilities, to his own exclusion of course. But I don’t think the President knows that. It will be interesting to see how Nathan plays his cards in the next volume, as the mastermind of this new operation.

In the final take, “Heroes volume 3: Villains” proved that the series still has what it takes to be the great show that it was conceived to be. The opening scene of “Heroes Fugitives” only serves to whet that anticipation. It’s time to go back to the formula of season 1.

Just when things really got exciting at "Heroes", we’re now in the last episode of the volume Villains. Sylar is back to being bad and maybe even more dangerous now that he can sense the truth. He goes after Angela for using him, but is that really all he wants?

Arthur Petrelli is dead (after a shot between the eyes, not at the back of the head). Delusional Nathan and his new woman Tracy take over Pinehearst and inject marines with the ‘perfected’ formula. Peter thinks that the formula will wreak havoc in the future, and he’s out to stop his own brother and Dr. Mohinder. Meantime, Ando wants to save Hiro and thinks that being injected with the formula makes him a time traveler.

  With his time warp powers gone, Hiro is stuck in the past, at the same night that his mother has just died. So Ando, Matt and Daphne decide they must get Hiro back to the present! And the perfect solution? Inject one of them with the formula to create a new time traveler.

So the trio search for Mohinder at Isaac’s apartment in the hopes that he would have perfected the formula and willingly give one of them a shot. Matt can read minds, ("only" adds Ando) and Daphne can run (really, really) fast. Ando wants to be guinea pig, since of course he has no powers, and OK Hiro is his BFF.

OK, slow down there, folks. Let’s think through what these three people are doing and think back. Angela Petrelli asked Matt and Daphne to get Hiro into the Company, so that, presumably everyone would have worked together to stop Arthur Petrelli from perfecting the formula! Unfortunately, Hiro appeared at Matt’s apartment thinking like a kid, and Daphne wanted to go home. They all traveled to Daphne’s home in Kansas and end up at the comic book store, where Hiro learns he has to take Claire back in time, to get his memories back again. That’s when Hiro decides he’s wants to be the catalyst, and Claire was more than happy not to let her babyself be it. So, now the past has changed. Enter Arthur Petrelli who gets the catalyst and all of Hiro’s powers. Meanwhile, Ando, Matt and Daphne are reading all of this from Isaac’s lost sketchbook.

So, they want to save Hiro by asking to be injected with the same formula they were supposed to destroy. That doesn’t make sense to me, not in the smart way at least. If they want to know how to save Hiro, why don’t they just read the sketchbook and find out. Besides, was there ever a guarantee that an injection creates a certain power?

I hope these loopholes get answered next week. "Heroes" has gotten a lot of criticism this season for being too confusing and leaving so many unanswered questions. I still have hope, I still love the show, but I’m really hoping things properly get wrapped up.

The Canadian trailer of "Heroes" final episode for volume 3 gives us a longer shot of the scene between Nathan and Peter, and it looks like they are bent on killing the other person. There has always been a tension between these brothers, and their decisions clash all the time. Now, there is no backing out.

The final episode of the year pits heroes against each other, and central to it are the Petrelli brothers. It’s inevitable that Peter and Nathan are going to try to kill each other as they choose opposite sides.

The rest of the Heroes are fighting for their lives as well – Claire, Hiro, Sylar.

  Oh, did you see the scenes of Claire and Hiro with their parents? The best of the evening!

Hiro brought Claire back to the past, 16 years ago when Kaito handed the baby Claire to HRG. Claire also meets her young parents, and that was such a lovely reunion. She tells a young Noah Bennet how great a father he will be to the new baby, and gave him the endearment "Claire-bear".

 Nathan goes back to Pinehearst and demands to lead the company. Like the easily manipulated puppet that he is, Nathan thinks he is "the leader with a vision" as his father concedes. Tracy Stauss, as the power-digger assistant, shows him an army of soldiers who gets ready to be injected with the formula.

Sixteen years back, Hiro meets his dying mother, who is a healer, and she gets to heal Hiro’s memory. I’m such a sucker for good drama, and this one tugs at the heart strings. Hiro asks to have the catalyst and he is strong enough to protect it. She transfers the light to him and dies.

Meantime, Angela asks Peter to kill his own father, at the back of the head with one bullet. Arthur has become too strong for anyone and only Peter can do it.

Sylar really does kill Elle! Now, he’s out to find the truth about his past, if the Petrellis really are his parents. He makes a killing again, getting the powers of a human lie detector, by slicing her head open. Sylar already knows how to get someone’s abilities without killing them, but as the serial killer admits, it feels good to kill again. I guess we’ve seen the last of him as a good guy, either in the present or in the future.

Ando, Daphne and Matt go to Manhattan and retrieve Isaac Mendez’ unfinished sketchbook. Unfortunately, it’s titled "Hiro Lost in Time" and the trio read what has happened to the time traveler. Hiro meets Claire to tell her he has taken the catalyst "and we have saved the future. Arthur Petrelli shows up and gets the catalyst from Hiro and all his powers, leaving Hiro without any abilities trapped 16 years in the past. So much for protecting the light, huh. Arthur sends Claire back to the present to tell Angela he has won.

Arthur goes back to the present and transfers the catalyst to the formula. Peter and the Haitian confront Arthur at Pinehearst, but Sylar ends up shooting the bullet right between Arthur’s eyes.

Just when Peter thinks it’s over, Nathan creates the first marine to have synthetic abilities from a perfected formula.

Next week, we find out how everything ends, with the last episode of the volume "Villains".

OK, folks! It’s the pre-finale episode of the volume "Villains" and I’m excited to find out how "Heroes" wraps this one up! I hope they don’t disappoint.

Like the first season, the heroes again must band together to stop a villain from destroying the world. This time, the clue lies in the past, when Kaito gave Claire the power to be a “catalyst” of the formula.

How can they beat Arthur when his scientist Mohinder is also racing against time to make a breakthrough for the formula? The secret weapon seems to be a powerless Peter.

According to one spoiler, Sylar will gain a new power, that will reveal the truth about whether Angela really tried to drown Baby Gabriel. We’ll find out tonight. Meanwhile, if you want more spoilers, check out the descriptions, and sneak peeks below.

How easy is it to kill Arthur Petrelli? Angela thinks it’s just a bullet to the beack of the head, but only Peter can do. But if it were that easy, how come no one has done it yet? And why does it have to be Peter?

There is something beautiful about two damaged goods finding love and hope with each other. That’s what Elle and Sylar were to most fans, I think. Maybe I’m a sucker for true love no matter who’s involved. But the story of Elle and Sylar/Gabriel was so wonderfully written (kudos to that writer) and to end it so abruptly was heartless! (Hear that other writer?)

After all of Sylar’s speech of having a home and family, and that possibly better future we saw in "I am Become Death", the villain turns around again, tick-tock-tick-tock, and slices Elle.

But wait! (screech!!!! Rewind effect!), did we actually see Elle die? There really was no reason for Sylar to slice her brain because he already has her powers. Doesn’t he know how to empathize and get someone’s powers without killing! So what was that screaming Elle we heard on Monday?!

A commenter at BuddyTV says Elle appears in a later episode, and sure enough, Kristen Bell’s name appears in "Our Father". E! Online hints that maybe Elle Bishop isn’t really done for good.

We can only hope again, that there is a future to Elle and Sylar. After all, Gabriel did have a son named Noah in the future.
