Before Zac Efron was a household name high school musical was a category of fun and angsty theater, not a frightening musical blob that covered TVs, T-shirts, and frisbees for several summers. There was singing, dancing, and – most importantly – absolutely no choreographed basketball dribbling.

Glee has gone from being an ensemble show about a misfit group of high schoolers to a Love Boat-esque series where storylines revolve around celebrities who come on to do cameos. Gwyneth Paltrow has been on twice, and celebrities like Javier Bardem and Anne Hathaway have expressed interest in doing the show as well. Next up: High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens. Unlike her costar and ex-boyfriend Zac Efron, Vanessa’s attempts to transition into grownup roles hasn’t really panned out. So it makes sense that she might want to just stick with what works, and we know that she can sing. Unlike some of the other prospective guest stars, Vanessa could fit into the world of the show, since she’s still young. Maybe she could be Santana’s long-lost cousin who outbitches her? And then they could do a duet like “Take Me Or Leave Me” from Rent (coincidentally, Vanessa just appeared played Mimi in a production of the show directed by Neil Patrick Harris).

Vanessa Hudgens Has Another Nude Photo Scandal, This Time with a Friend

Former Disney starlet Vanessa Hudgens seems to be taking on more mature roles with the upcoming Sucker Punch (out March 25), but it looks like the 22-year-old actress is back to acting out off-camera as well. You’ll remember that in 2007 and 2009, batches of nude photos featuring Baby V (underage when she took them) circulated on the Internet. Well, now MediaTakeOut has released new photos of Hudgens — again naked and vamping for the camera, but this time also making out with another young actress.

Rumor has it that Hudgen’s partner in crime is 18-year-old Alexa Nikolas, who played Jamie Lynn Spears‘ sweet friend Nicole in the first two seasons of the Nickelodeon show Zoey 101. She’s also appearing in the movie LOL with Miley Cyrus, who is no stranger to controversy caught on camera.

You can check out the more graphic photos — of Nikolas in her bra and Hudgens nude, with more making out — at the link above. It would be interesting if it turned out that these girls were actually romantically involved, but considering the age and the intensive photo documentation, they were probably doing it to get someone’s attention.

And of course, the question on everyone’s minds: What does Hudgens’ ex-boyfriend Zac Efron think? Since neither he nor Hudgens are on Twitter, there’s no official statement yet.

Sure, Ashley Tisdale‘s newest character, Savannah, the cheerleading captain on the upcoming CW series Hellcats, demands her time in the spotlight, loves cute clothes and can be chirpy and majorly annoying at the same time. But that doesn’t automatically make her a clone of High School Musical‘s Sharpay Evans.

“My hair color has definitely changed,” a brunette Ashley joked at the Television Critics Association panel of her new series.

“For me, Savannah is completely different from Sharpay. She’s been in her own little bubble. She’s a cheerleader. She’s very religious. She’s Christian. She’s very naive.”

Oh, and this little note. Savannah has a heart.

“She’s a little bit soft,” Ashley pointed out, noting how Savannah isn’t above putting the best gal on the cheerleading squad, even if she does loathe law-student-in-desperate-need-off-scholarship Marti (portrayed by newcomer Alyson Michalka)

“She sees Marti, and she sees how good she is, and so she’s like, ‘I’m team captain, let’s do this.’”

Sharpay will finally get a little humanity when she tries to make it big in the Big Apple in Disney Channel’s upcoming feature, Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.

“Sharpay is used to getting everything that she wants. She’s Barbie: she’s got the perfect hair, perfect car and perfect clothes. She goes to New York to fulfill her dreams and be on Broadway and she messes up a little bit. She’s out on her own and she realizes life isn’t like that,” Ashley shared. “I think she’s finally learned down the road, and kind of has to fend for herself.”

Maybe these two do have something in common after all.

Did Zac Efron Blow $2,000 At A Strip Club?

That’s the word, Page Six is reporting. Hours before attending the NYC premiere of his new movie Charlie St. Cloud, Zac was spotted at a gentlemen’s club called Flashdancers last Sunday, enjoying the, uh, scenery alongside former High School Musical castmate Corbin Bleu. According to Page Six,

“They ordered one bottle of Belvedere vodka and were enthralled with the dancers. They were interacting a lot with the girls and reaching out and showering money on them. There were three girls who Zac and his friends particularly liked and they asked to do personal dances at their table.”

Our witness continued, “The girls were all slim pretty brunettes, a bit like Zac’s girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens. They were two Americans, called Shannon and Brandi, and a gorgeous Brazilian called Raquel.

“Zac and the boys had a great time and left around 3 a.m. Monday morning.”

Let’s see: Zac is 22, he’s a hetero male and he’s Zac Efron. So it’s not altogether shocking for him to be seen at a strip club with fellow Disney stars. However, Zac is a Disney prince come to life. And if we were Vanessa, we’d be a little pissed.

Memoir: Zac Efron Helped Me Grow Up

Jessica Assimon, a senior at Syracuse University, tells the story of how trying to meet her celeb crush helped inch her closer toward adulthood.

I’m a self-proclaimed High School Musical fan. I have all three DVDs and soundtracks and I even attended the concert when it visited my hometown in 2007. I’m also 22 years old and 18 days older than Zac Efron.

Somehow, I convinced two friends to come with me to attend the 17 Again premiere in London’s Leicester Square last spring while I was studying abroad. We arrived at the red carpet almost two hours early, but we still stood no chance of standing in prime red carpet real estate. We stayed though, ignoring the typical London drizzles, and hoping that maybe, Zac would walk to our spot toward the end of the carpet.

For anyone who’s ever been to a red carpet premiere, there is a camaraderie you develop with the people around you (at least in London, that is). My friends and I started talking to an 18-year-old girl next to us whose family had recently moved to London to escape the dangers of her home country, South Africa. She told us how guards with machine guns used to stand outside her house to protect her and how her mother kept a gun under her bed, as well, to protect her family from rebels. She claimed it had been that way her whole life. Suddenly my desire for Zac to sign my HSM3 DVD seemed silly and juvenile.

Then there was the small, 40-something man standing next to me who lived for the red carpet. He’d met Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt and had no clue who Zac Efron or any other celebrity that night was, but he made sure to elbow me out the way to get his autograph. He also knocked my mini notebook out of my hand, which I later found on the red carpet. Like before, I felt wrong trying to edge out this man for Jemma McKenzie-Brown (Tiara Gold for you HSM fans) to sign my HSM3 DVD case.

Despite all of the chaos, I caught a good look at Zac before someone threw something at him and the police forbade him to come near us. Unfortunately, when I looked at him I saw every boy walking around my campus, because, when he’s just five feet away from you, Zac Efron looks like the typical 21-year-old guy. Up close, he’s certainly not the dreamy poster boy that Perez Hilton draws white hearts over.

I suddenly realized that I needed to abandon my love for the Disney Channel. Who wants to wait for hours to fawn over someone who could sit next to you in lecture?

This realization, and the fact that I was still squished between shrieking tweens, prompted my friends and I to leave the scene, head over to Chinatown and demand a glass of red wine before we even sat down.

Has Zac Efron Had Enough?

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have been together for three years now thanks to High School Musical. The couple has been a favorite of many because of their performance in the sequels, but Zac might be getting bored of his fame to claim through just that. Zac is thinking about moving on because he doesn’t want to stay in his past, he wants to move forward with his career and think that Vanessa might be holding him back.

If anything is holding you back it is only yourself! I don’t see why stars always try to blame their fame or success on their partners or who they are hanging around with. Zac was told though that if he wants to go from a teen idol to a major movie star, he will have to distance himself from High School Musical all together says Star Magazine. That means no more Vanessa!

He already had his big screen hit with the comedy 17 Again which he has been around the world to promote already and had time to be away from Vanessa. He needs to stay clear of musicals and focus on the big things. When he is with Vanessa, everyone sees them as their characters in High School Musical and not as themselves.

This will not be easy for Zac as he still loves Vanessa, but understands and realizes the situation and might be enough to do it. This summer, they will be spending even more time apart as he will be going off to New England to shoot his next movie, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. If anything is going to happen, this might be the time that he will break free and test out the waters.
