<p>Shhh! I have a secret! My sister, a public school teacher, gets so many gifts from her students&#8217; parents every year, she often shares the goodies with yours truly!</p>
<p>My sister &#8212; if she wasn&#8217;t teaching her fifth grade class today &#8212; would have loved to hear today&#8217;s View discussion about teachers receiving gifts from the parents of their students. The main point brought up by the ladies: It can  lead to favoritism if one parent can afford to give a teacher more expensive gifts than other parents.</p>
<p>Good point, but as Elisabeth said, &#8220;[Teachers] do so much for our kids&#8230;[we should] shower them with gifts!&#8221;</p>
