Crush This: The Biggest TV Premieres Of The Season

Welcome to Crush This, your weekly guide to what’s new in movies, music and TV. We’ve navigated the inner reaches of our entertainment-obsessed brains in search of all the pop culture landscape has to offer. Are you ready? This is the biggest week in television premieres, with everything from new shows like Hawaii Five-0 and old favorites like Glee debuting. Get ready to set your DVR. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s some big movie premieres, too, headlined by hotties like Shia, James and Ryan.

TV: Let’s see if we can fit all the new series premieres here. Tonight, all the networks are debuting their new Monday night line-ups. CBS is new with How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, Two and a Half Men and new shows Mike and Molly and Hawaii Five-0. NBC has a brand new episode of the almost-canceled Chuck followed by series premieres of the confusing The Event and Chase. Dancing with the Stars debuts on ABC, followed by a brand new season of Castle. And on FOX, check out House and new show Lonestar.

On Tuesday, there’s even more premieres: Glee on FOX, followed by new shows Raising Hope and the Will Arnett and Keri Russell sitcom Running Wilde. On Wednesday we’ll be watching a new Modern Family on ABC, and new shows Undercovers, Better With You, The Defenders and The Whole Truth. Law & Order: SVU also premieres, but we think two lawyer shows in one night is enough.

Thursday is a big night on NBC, with new episodes of Community, 30 Rock, The Office and new show Outsourced. And of course there’s Emmy winning Big Bang Theory on CBS, followed by the debut of Twitter-based series $#*! My Dad Says. Fringe is on FOX, and Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice are back on ABC.

Need more? What about new series Blue Bloods on Friday night and a brand new Saturday Night Live with host Amy Poehler.

Movies: We’ve been waiting to see James Franco as Allen Ginsberg in Howl, and our wait is almost over: the biopic debuts Friday. And, after being pushed back from this spring, Shia LaBeouf and Michael Douglas star in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Also in theaters Friday: You Again, the lady flick starring Kristen Bell, Odette Yustman Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis and, of course, Betty White and thriller Buried with Ryan Reynolds.

Music: Disney princess Selena Gomez and her band The Scene debut their second album, A Year Without RainMiley a run for her money? And there’s more much-anticipated albums dropping this week, too: John Legend and The Roots‘ collaboration Wake Up!, Maroon 5‘s Hands All Over and Shontelle‘s No Gravity.

While Kim Kardashian is busy charging whoknowshowmuch a tweet, Claire Danes is shilling for housepaint. Weird! Or … genius? Gotta corner the market on that, girl! Here’s Claire demonstrating her skills at an event for Valspar’s new Hi-Def Paint at the Grand Central Terminal in NYC.

Note to celebs: This is where the money is — in the “niche.” Jamie Lee Curtis has yogurt. Claire Danes has paint.

Now would you hire her to make your walls a lovely shade of Robin’s egg blue?

Freaky Monday in the works

Could a Freaky Friday follow-up be in the works?

CBS Films has optioned the body-switching novel Freaky Monday from Heather Hach, who co-wrote the book with Mary Rodgers, author of the 1973 novel Freaky Friday, according to Variety.

But this movie would not be a mother-daughter switch — it would be a teen girl and her teacher switching in this version.

Freaky Monday is about a smart but insecure girl who switches bodies with her sympathetic junior high English teacher for a day.

Lindsay Lohan starred in the 2003 Disney remake along with Jamie Lee Curtis.

I don’t know if Lindsay would play a part in this movie, unless it’s a cameo role of some sort.

BuzzSugar.com is asking readers to cast the movie, suggesting Tina Fey possibly as the teacher and Selena Gomez as the student. Not bad. Who do you think would be good for this movie? Should Lindsay have a part?
