Video: Community Cast And CollegeHumor Want You To Save Their Show

So while Community‘s fans are trying to appeal to the networks with their @OccupyNBC Twitter campaign, the show’s stars have joined up with CollegeHumor in a new video asking you to save… Greendale Community College. Yep, it’s entirely in-character, with Joel McHale, Donald Glover, Danny Pudi, and others walking the hallowed halls of their “fifth-rate safety school” to show you what you’ll be missing.

That’s right: The stars are trying to appeal to more viewers, to create fans who will then join the existing fans in reaching out to the network. All very self-referential, all very fitting for this fine show.

Other CNN anchors might consider themselves way above covering the antics of desperate reality star wannabes, but not Anderson Cooper. In fact, he seems almost delighted for the chance to mock people like Kate Gosselin and now Courtney Stodden.

With each entry on Anderson Cooper 360 feature the Ridiculist, we can see that he really has a knack for this. Instead of doing the same shtick every time — that is, shouting no-holds-barred criticism at the fameballs — he pretends to take her side against the “Halloween haters” who kicked her and hubby Doug Hutchison out of a pumpkin patch for their excessive PDA and her excessive butt crack.

Watch out, Joel McHale—Anderson could probably take you on The Soup.

Who knew makeup artists had such great stories? Mathias Alan, who’s worked on E!’s The Soup for five years, recently blogged on Beauty Etc. about how he transformed E! Networks producer Kelly Levy into child bride Courtney Stodden for a gag on the show.

Even though this blog post is from a makeup artist’s point of view, it’s really accessible because he gets how outrageous Courtney is. So while you and I may not care about which brand of lipliner Mathias used, his descriptions of the makeup’s effects – ”the Courtney Stodden 1980s glam-eye” and “over-the-top, Dynasty drag” — are top-notch.

The final product is incredibly authentic and equally mortifying: Mathias had to use two sets of fake eyelashes and two tracks of blond hair extensions. (He noted that he had to help Kelly get her mic on, because her fake hair kept getting tangled with the other wires.)

Here’s Kelly strutting her stuff for the second time—and bear in mind, this was shot at 9 a.m. the day that the episode was aired! We’re betting that afterwards Kelly wiped off all her greasy makeup and took a well-deserved bath.

And you know what? Courtney approves! The first time The Soup brought out their doppelganger, she tweeted, Sending all of my exotic love & sexual gratitude to the actress who portrayed me on The Soup last night on E! That sounds more like a threat than a thank-you, but for Joel McHale and co, that’s a badge of honor.

You know which imitation we can’t wait to see? Kelly returning as Courtney, with Joel as her creepy older husband Doug Hutchison!

Avril Lavigne Is The McRib and Other McDonald Celebrity Comparisons

It’s baaaack! After a long stint out of the public eye, this greasy, saucy mess known as the McRib is being reintroduced at McDonalds. While we know there is a cult following for the McRib, we mainly just find it gross, and any momentary excitement is eclipsed with an icky after-taste. This week’s divorce announcement from Avril Lavigne left us feeling similarly: we didn’t realize how much we hadn’t missed her until she came back. Go away again, Avril, and lets try again in 5 years.

This got us thinking of what other celebrities had the same conceptual properties of McDonalds fast-food.

Snooki - Chicken Nuggets
Pint-size and delicious, Snooki can be consumed in great quantity and always leave you wanting more. She’s also totally unapollogetic about what she is: a tasty mainstay of a junk food diet.

Handsome comedian Joel McHale made a trip down to NBC to appear on Today in order to promote Community. Since he really has Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda to thank for making up 90 percent of the mockable content for his other show, The Soup, Joel came prepared. Well, he came drunk. Not like “fake drunk.” We’re pretty sure Joel is ornery drunk as he pours out a Rose for the ladies and yells at them to roll the damn clips.

To be fair, showing up drunk on Today is actually standard practice and usually required in the stipulations when you sign the waiver with NBC. Zing?
