Beautiful songstress Marissa Nadler is playing the last free show and the last show ever at the lounge at Sound Fix Records in Williamsburg. She will be there this Saturday, February 28.

James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and Sam Lipsyte, author of “Home Land” and “The Subject Steve,” and a recently Guggenheimed novelist and Columbia professor, will be at Joe’s Pub tonight. Lipsyte “began his descent as the much feared Sam Shit, front-man of the internationally ignored Dung Beetle Rock Band.” And Dung Beetle’s engineer was none other than James Murphy. The lovely Joe’s Pub has been with us for 40 years now and to celebrate they’re having a whole slew of awesome performances from September to December. Things start of with Carl Hancock Rux, who played the first ever show at Joe’s Pub. He’ll be back on September 1 to celebrate and perform sections of his new cabaret opera, Backamoor Angel.
