Jonah Hill is known for playing the smartass, chubby sidekick in comedies like Superbad and Knocked Up. But the 28-year-old actor is now trying to shed his funny fat man image. With the help of a nutritionist, Hill recently lost a significant amount of weight. It’s a move he says he made for both his health and his career.
“I just had a moment in my life where I said I want to become a man, and that means with my career, that means with my life, that means with my health,” Hill explained to Bill Weir in a “Nightline” interview. More »
Jonah Hill was great in the Brad Pitt baseball biopic MoneyBall. And this morning the Academy recognized that, with an Oscar nomination for the 28 year old actor. This is great news. Jonah’s chances for actually winning the Oscar may be slim, but this basically guarantees that he will get more serious dramatic roles. Which will be good for everyone. More »

Now we get why Alamo Drafthouse is consistently voted the beast theater in the country. They’re the ones behind the viral video of an angry customer’s bleep-filled voicemail, which they used in their famous “Don’t Talk” campaign of PSAs that run before new movies. Today we stumbled upon their official YouTube channel, which collects all of their “Don’t Talk” PSAs — including the hilarious ones with celebrities like Jason Momoa and Dave Franco. Not all of them succeed — therein lies the fun — but you have to hand it to the theater and the stars for turning out such wacky videos. More »
Jonah Hill lost a ton of weight, you guys! A ton of it. He debuted his new svelte figure at the ESPY Awards the other day, and we were shocked by what we saw. We tracked down a photo from January of this year and morphed seven months of weight loss into a single GIF. Check it out:

The ESPY Awards (aka the Excellence In Sports Performance Yearly awards) are presented every year by ESPN. But for some reason, last night’s ceremony had just as many non-athletes in attendance as athletes. Well, I guess someone has to present the trophies or tell jokes while everyone gets into their seats, right? More »
Here’s a preview for animated series Allen Gregory, which will be part of FOX’s new lineup next fall. The show’s about a super-smart and sophisticated elementary school student (Pinot Grigio for lunch, anyone?) looks pretty fantastic. Allen was co-created by Jonah Hill, and boasts a team of writers we know from there hilarious Twitters — dudes like Shawn Ries and Guy Endore-Kaiser. More »

Our sister site Blisstree.com this week wrote a piece entitled “10 Overweight Celebrities We Don’t Want to Look Like.” While the title may have been a little flippant, we wonder if Jezebel’s Sadie Stein read beyond it as the message of Blisstree’s article was far from Mean Girls. Instead Blisstree (which is a health and nutrition site) was pointing out the myriad health problems that come with being obese, including, you know, dying. And its way more common in America than the size-0 celebrities that gossip blogs mock and point to as poor role models. More »
Yikes. Okay kid’s television, we get it. You’re “hip” and appeal to cool dads the world around, with your Neil Patrick Harris cameos and your MGMT pop-ins on Yo Gabba Gabba!. But having Jonah Hill talk about mustaches is just sort of creepy. What did little kids need to know about mustaches? More »

We were excited about the prospect of MTV’s The Hard Times of R.J. Berger, MTV’s supposed “HBO’s Hung meets high school.” Unfortunately, the well-endowed comedy fell short (aside from maybe one area).
First of all, we’ve seen most, if not all of this, before. The skinny, nerdy R.J. (Paul Iacono) is a typical high school misfit with a passion for anime, dragons and all things generally uncool. Think Napoleon Dynamite meets Michael Cera meets McLovin. R.J’s bromance with his chubby best… More »
