Jordin, Blake and Melinda Join July 4th Celebrations!
NBC will celebrate America’s 231st birthday with a live broadcast of the “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.” Of the performers, country music star (and American Idol guest) Martina McBride will open the event and Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis and Melinda Doolittle will perform a song together to tribute the Nation’s birthday.
The event is America’s largest 4th of July fireworks extravaganza and will feature 35,000 shells which will be set off over New York City.

Kellie Pickler’s Dating Jordin???
Ha, ha! Yes, Kellie Pickler is dating Jordin but it’s not Jordin Sparks – it’s NHL Hockey player Jordin Tootoo. He is the first Inuk to play in the NHL (hooray for Nunavut!) and is one of my favorite Canadians in the game with an amazing but tragically sad life story. Last night, American Idol fans (yes, all three of you who did not abandon this lackluster season – just kidding), watched Jordin Sparks win it all last night. She was not a forerunner in this competition but seemed to surge past Blake Lewis in the final week or so. Some people say this is because she picked up Melinda Doolittle’s and Lakisha Jones’ votes. Melinda’s Face During Jordin’s Performance
So many of you have written in to ask if I saw Melinda Doolittle’s face during Jordin Sparks’ performance. I did but I did not have a screenshot of it. TallFreak has graciously provided me with one. It is priceless. Melinda’s probably just concentrating on what Jordin’s doing but I cracked up last night. In this shot, even Chris Richardson looks a little taken-aback but he is a Blake Lewis fan, so it’s understandable.

Ugh, this just gets worse by the second. I cannot even keep up with it all. American Idol did something new this year by asking America to vote for the best “finale song” which was to be written by “undiscovered songwriters.” Well, my friends, the song that seemed written for Jordin does not seem to be the work of amateurs. Jordin Sparks has been behind Blake Lewis for most of the season according to their stats.
