1. Kristen Stewart
K-Stew is just starting the promotional trail for Eclipse and she’s already come out with this anti-paparazzi tirade: “I feel like I’m looking at someone being raped..A lot of the time I can’t handle it. It’s f**ked. I never expected that this would be my life.”

2. John Mayer
Before his scandalous Playboy article, before he left Twitter, John wrote a decent blog post about how the paparazzi antagonizes celebs as they come off planes, in order to get a good photo or bit of film. “The fact that [airline] passenger lists are not available to the general public means that anyone waiting at the airport with any more than the CD from the passenger seat of their car has gotten word of which celebrities will be traveling through the terminal in the same way the paparazzi do,” John explained. “In some cases, these ‘fans’ are working in concert with them. After all, it’s a great way to get a celebrity to interact with you on video if you can ask them impolite questions while they’re stopping to sign a few items for someone.”

10 Celebrities Who Complain About Fame

Movies: We’ve been waiting for Russell Brand and Jonah Hill in Get Him To The Greek (you can win a movie-related prize pack, too) and it opens this Friday. But high stakes rom-com Killers with Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher also opens that same day. Which will we choose?

TV: Let the summer series begin! There are so many shows debuting this week, it will be hard to choose which to watch. Today, take your pick between Dad Camp on VH1 (Bret Michaels‘ new show also has a sneak peek episode tonight) and Cake Boss on TLC. Tuesday, there’s premieres of new Jersey-based show Jersey Couture on Oxygen, America’s Got Talent and Losing It with Jillian on NBC, Hell’s Kitchen on Fox, Downtown Girls on MTV and The Little Couple and One Big Happy Family on TLC.

Wednesday there’s premieres of Toddlers and Tiaras on TLC and Tosh.0 on Comedy Central, while USA Networks’ Royal Pains and Burn Notice premiere Thursday. Next Sunday is another big night, with MTV’s scripted TV show The Hard Times of RJ Berger along with new show Sons of Tucson on Fox and new seasons of Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime and reality competition show The Next Food Network Star.

Music: British pop star Taio Cruz rocked us with his single “Break Your Heart” and “Dirty Picture” music video with Ke$ha. Now, his album Rokstarr is being released stateside on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday, Clay Aiken, Sleigh Bells and Jack Johnson are all releasing new albums.

Rachel McAdams As The Next Julia Roberts? Doubtful.

There’s, like, 17 different things wrong with this aquisition. Such as:n

1. This book was hot in 1992. Like the scrunchie, we do not want.
2. Rom-coms like He’s Just Not That Into You and The Ugly Truth exploit women’s insecurities about finding love to sell movie tickets — the ugly truth?  Those movies are really shitty and produced by men who have no clue what women want. You know what we want? More Prada. Devil Wears Prada, that is. You know, something critically acclaimed that respects women and doesn’t shoot them down.
3. You know what we also want? More Hurt Locker, less Katherine Heigl fulfilling gender stereotypes of women as shrill harpies who must defer to men in order to get married or something. But that’s been around since Pygmalion, yo.
4. Matthew McConaughey will probably star.
5. So will Justin Long, who has NO right not to be into Ginnifer Goodwin, OK?
6. Filmmakers are citing He’s Just Not That Into You as inspiration. Not a good sign.

Anyways, this project stands to make Mars author John Gray even richer than he is now. Because there’s always room for lame rom-coms, if Julia Roberts agrees to make a 10-minute cameo.

Summit Entertainment Acquires 'Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus'

Is this an act of faux sincerity? And will such a grand PR gesture win over the skeptical masses and revive Heigl’s downwardly spiraling career?

Heigl and her team are probably hoping, fingers crossed. The actress’ popularity took a downtown after she won an Emmy for Grey’s and proved her box-office, rom-com mettle with Knocked Up followed by 27 Dresses. Perhaps she felt bolstered by new success — invincible even — but audiences are quick to turn against outspoken women who don’t play nice. On the contrary, Sean Penn still gets to make movies and sometimes people see them.

I wrote an article on this back in 2008, but it still stands up now that her movie career is stagnant, her TV arc over and her critics loud as ever. An excerpt:

When Katherine Heigl opens her mouth, people listen. They don’t always like what they hear.

If the media loves a celebrity lightning rod, then Heigl certainly delivers the goods. The Emmy-winning actress has taken heat for her blunt public comments and doesn’t seem to give two winks.

According to her detractors, the “Grey’s Anatomy” star’s outre behavior includes: demanding a higher salary in contract negotiations with ABC; slamming the megahit comedy “Knocked Up,” in which she starred with Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd, as “a little sexist” in painting women as “humorless and uptight” and men as “lovable, goofy”; and, recently, refusing to seek an Emmy nomination because “Grey’s” writers failed to deliver the goods for an awards-worthy performance.

At times, Heigl comes off like a reality show contestant who says, “I’m not here to make friends. I’m here to win.” That attitude, as any avid viewer of shows from “Survivor” to “The Bachelor” would agree, wins few allies on the island (or in the mansion), but it sure makes for good TV.

But in a world of bland, media-trained celebs, is it such a bad thing to speak your mind?

Turns out, it is — at least for Heigl. She dyed her hair brown and has been popping up (and out) with more frequency and now on EW’s cover. But Hollywood and moviegoers at large have less tolerance for stars they don’t like, no matter how interesting said star is and especially if they are female (this sucks, but sexism and age-ism and everything I hate is alive and well and Heigl riles people up). Exceptions are Tom Cruise, whose hilarious self-mockery in Tropic Thunder helped rebrand his image and proved he can roll with the punches.

Can Heigl do the same? She might as well try, since she has nothing to lose.
