Not being famous, perhaps I wouldn’t know this, but to my way of thinking, the absolute worst thing about being famous has got to be dealing with the paparazzi. Sure, when you live a public life, photographers are always going to be an issue, but I still feel bad for actors, musicians, artists, etc. who get hounded all the time for no other reason than that they happen to make a living in the entertainment industry. But celebs aren’t always victims; occasionally, they fight back! Sometimes the attacks more warranted than others, but either way, they make for interesting tabloid fodder. Actually, here’s a question for you: If a celeb is busy attacking a photographer snapping pictures of the celebrity’s everyday life, what does that make the photographer who’s snapping pictures of the incident? Food for thought… More »
Severus Snape? Alan Rickman. Marty McFly? Michael J. Fox. Vivian Ward? Julia Roberts. We all know and love these characters, and their actors’ portrayals of them were so perfect, it can be hard to imagine anyone else playing them. But guess what? If things had gone a little differently, Alan Rickman might not have landed Snape, Michael J. Fox may not have donned Marty’s orange vest, and Julia Roberts may not have become one of the world’s most well-known prostitutes. That’s right: Each of these characters were originally pitched to different actors, and in some cases, were even recast midway through shooting. What other iconic characters might have ended up being played by totally different actors? Read on to find out! More »
Or perhaps more appropriately, Movies That Will Not Be Happening The Way We Thought They Were Going To. Over the last week and a half, two major nerd films lost their key players. First, Akira news: Keanu Reeves, who had reportedly signed on the play Kaneda in the live-action remake of the anime classic, said no. Second, Uncharted news: Today we heard that director David O. Russell, who had been attached to the film adaptation of the PlayStation game series, has pulled out, and he’s taking Mark Wahlberg, who was set to play Nathan Drake, with him. More »
Forget The Matrix- as far as I’m concerned, Keanu Reeves‘ most important contribution to society was Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. There have been rumors that a third Bill & Ted movie is in the works, and Keanu talked to MTV about whether the project is a go. More »
So Jane Pratt, the editor of the late 80s/early 90s teen zine Sassy, may be launching a similar-themed magazine with tween fashion blogger Tavi Gevinson. That is the best news we’ve heard all year for the magazine world, because the sardonic writing and awesome spreads in Sassy were one of the biggest influencing factors for all of us here at Crushable. They were Jezebel, pre-Jezebel, but without as much politics. They were Nylon, but with funnier copy. They were, essentially, who we wanted to be. And oh yeah, they had the most amazing covers that amazingly stand the test of time. We dare you to tell us otherwise. More »
We’re not sure if we buy into this Vulture interview with Keanu Reeves, where the actor claims to have no knowledge about his recent meme status as “Sad Keanu.” After all, ever since the first pictures appeared earlier this summer, Keanu seems to be purposely posing with maximum melancholy, even when say, he’s eating a cupcake. Then again, we didn’t expect Keanu Reeves to know such 50-cent words. More »
Bill and Ted 3 is on its way – Eeexcellent! Franchise stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winters have confirmed that the third installment of their sci-fi slacker series is in development. We’ll be there on opening day. (via MTV)
Poor Keanu Reeves (or as my dad for some inexplicable reason says it, “Key-nu“): The most amount of press he’s getting these days is his recent memehood of sadness, where people post shots of the actor moping around, head in hands, and titling the pictures “Sad Keanu.” But seeing as how little we actually know of this actor’s life, he could just as easily be a very happy Keanu. The evidence goes either way, really. Just look! More »
Someone posted this photo on Reddit that seems to confirm that Keanu Reeves is, indeed, very sad. Look at him, moping with his juice! But we present to the jury this evidence that Keanu is not just sad, but mad as well!
Or is that just Smug Keanu? “I have a racecar and you don’t.” So why so sad then, Keanu?

Cheer Up, Keanu Reeves! – Since today is officially “Cheer Up Keanu Day” (because he’s so sad), we want to institute a policy of cheering up sad John Krasinski. Oh wait, he’s fine. (via Facebook)
The paparazzi-filmed goodnight kiss — Is Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves dating? If you need proof, there’s video of them kissing goodnight after a date earlier this week. Don’t they know the paps are everywhere? (via TMZ)
We came of age in the 1990′s, as the music video was coming of age as well. In the early ’90s the genre went from experimental device to true art form. Singers enlisted the help of actors and models to tell the story beyond their songs, choreographers created synchronized dance numbers and music videos extended beyond the length of the song into mini-movies, a move made popular by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Although we’re almost too young to remember when these… More »

I’m fascinated by Kevin Federline, much like I’m fascinated by the spiders I find around my house and flush down the toilet. They try so hard to scramble up the sides, but in the end, they are just spiders and must sink to their level.
And yes, I’m aware that made no sense. I was going for metaphysical and it just didn’t work out the way I thought it would.
Anyway:
Kevin Federline was humiliated when he turned up to “star”… More »
Crushable Commenter of the Week: Inkhuldra Defends Keanu’s Honor
When we expressed surprise over Keanu Reeves‘ unexpected eloquence during his Vulture interview (in which he used terms such as re-contextualize and conceptualize), we thought we were paying the sad actor a compliment! Apparently not: there is a strong community of “Save Keanu” fans that believe the Bill and Ted thespian should be allowed into Mensa. We’re wary of urls sent in our comment sections, but congratulations to user Inkhuldra for introducing us to WhoaIsNotMe.Net, which has provided us with minutes of entertainment. More »
