Kelly Clarkson has outed herself as a Republican and a supporter of Ron Paul. The pop star took to her Twitter and Whosay account yesterday to endorse the politician: More »
Are you guys watching the CMA Music Festival? Taped last month, the show’s airing right now on ABC, giving us performances by the likes of Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton and Lauren Alaina. Sounding good, America. More »
Word on the American Idol streets (neon, paved with gold) is contestants Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart have been hooking up: sources have spotted them getting super flirty and sharing one another’s laps. Casey and Haley are hardly the first pair of Idol flingers — contestants have been setting off the rumor alert since Season 1, when Justin Guarini allegedly three-timed behind the scenes. So here they are, the rumored hookups from 10 seasons of Idol. More »
Kelly Clarkson‘s “Since You’ve Been Gone” remains one of my favorite karaoke songs that I’ll never sing, and Swedish pop star Robyn‘s “Dancing On My Own” is the latest in a string of successful comeback singles post-”Show Me Love.” Put them together and what do you have? Magic. Non-Ketamine-induced magic.

On my iPod you’ll find a playlist titled “BOUNCE BACK.” The ever-growing collection includes all the songs that help pull me out of a funk. Whether it’s bouncing back from a break up, or just a bad hair day, they always manage to put me back on the road to a good mood. More »
Happy Bastille Day, everyone! Was it joy over the independence of France, or something in the water…because everyone was uncharacteristically happy today!
Samantha Ronson (@samantharonson) was indeed feeling very Vive La France! The clever gal made a nice quip about the French Revolution.
Everything is perfect, chirped Khloe Kardashian (@KhloeKardashian).
Alright, it’s lovely. We get the point, Jacqueline Laurita (@JacLaurita).
Eliza Dushku (@elizadushku) pondered topics of a decidedly less pure variety, but she did manage to mention how easy her job is.
Sometimes, all the… More »
Grass is green, the world is round and Lee DeWyze is the worst-ever winner in the history of American Idol.
As a loyal viewer of the Fox competition since day one, I stand by that statement. Lee has some talent but no stage presence, no real of selling out stadiums like Carrie Underwood or even doing Broadway like Taylor Hicks. Tellingly, he’s the third unassuming guitar guy in a row to win the Idol title after Kris Allen and David Cook…. More »
Lee DeWyze has won the ninth season of American Idol, snagging more votes than competitor Crystal Bowersox. The rocker from Mount Prospect, Illinois, was teary-eyed and rendered speechless upon hearing the result, thanking fans and telling Crystal, “I love you.”
Lee’s win Wednesday night confirmed DialIdol.com’s earlier prediction that he’d pull an upset over Crystal — our favorite — based on the site’s measurement of busy signals from viewers who voted for the final two. (DialIdol also accurately predicted Kris Allen’s… More »
American Idol has posted a survey on its web site, asking for viewer feedback on the blah ninth season, the blah contestants and the blah judge’s panel. Andy Dehnart breaks it down nicely on Reality Blurred. Crushable took the quiz and gave our opinion on how we are enjoying the show (not a lot), how much we miss Paula Abdul (a lot) and how much of a reason to watch is the banter between Ryan Seacrest and the rest of… More »
Today in the celebrity Twitter community: Which stars of The Hills are participating in illegal underground boxing matches? What downwardly-spiraling actress is glad to not be Twitter-ranting anymore? What American Idol star wants you to make jokes about his butter butt? Find out below! More »
No, it’s not because of her singing or her skin-baring outfits, but Islamic fundamentalist groups are declaring a fatwa against Kelly Clarkson’s Jakarta concert in Indonesia, since it’s being promoted by a cigarette company.
Carkson has called the situation “lose-lose,” on her blog, since pulling the sponsorship would mean canceling the show and “I can’t justify penalizing my fans for someone else’s oversight.” Well, at the very least this may be the first time Islamic fundamentalist and American Facebook groups… More »
First of all, it’s confusing why L.A. Lights would be promoting a concert mainly attended by tweens in the first place. Smoking is bad for you and all, but this is just plain bad product placement. Anti-smoking activists are pissed that Kelly Clarkson’s tour is being funded by this Indonesian cigarette brand (which has appeared as her sponsor on billboards and ads) and hopes that she’ll send a message to her audience by pulling the third-largest cigarette owner from her… More »
Kelly Clarkson is joining this summer’s revamped Lilith Fair. She’ll be performing with people like Sarah McLachlan, who founded the festival, Ke$ha, Colbie Caillat, Tegan and Sara, Corinne Bailey Rae, Erykah Badu, Emmylou Harris, Metric, Jill Scott, La Roux, Loretta Lynn, The Bangles, The Go-Go’s, a couple of Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride, and Suzanne Vega. Looks like Lilith is aiming for a cross-section of genres, and not as much of the folky, earthy vibe of the past. The lady-centric tour,… More »
When American Idol producers decided to move this week’s ladies’ semifinal performance night from Tuesday to Wednesday because one of the contestants had a medical issue, it was kind of a big deal. Now that we’ve had time to absorb the magnitude of the decision, we’ve decided it’s even bigger of a deal. That’s why today’s Controversy of the Day is about Idol’s big move: Was it fair?
The medical mystery is cleared up — we now know Crystal Bowersox was… More »
AnnaLynne McCord is on the cover of the upcoming issue of Shape magazine, and she’s looking hot in a bright pink bikini. But we couldn’t help but notice that it looks like the Shape editors have done a bit of airbrushing, which we think is probably completely unnecessary for the 90210 babe.
The result is that the cover pic looks as though AnnaLynne’s head has been attached to someone else’s body. And the weird heavenly glow behind her only adds to… More »
Rumor has it that Britney may have signed up a new manager, Jeff Kwatinez. Kwatinez, CEO of The Firm, former manager of Kelly Clarkson and lastly, former fiance of Brittany Murphy.
Not to question Britney’s management skills and not as if anything has changed since she fired Larry Rudolph, but I think that this is a great move on Brit’s side and can only help her and allow more time for what she should really be doing…. More »
