Celebrity karaoke crashing: It’s a thing. Interestingly, Jason Segel and John Krasinski seem to be better at it than Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber; the lovebirds picked up the mic after being urged on by fans at a club, but couldn’t keep up with Kid Rock‘s crooner “Picture.” Maybe because they were, oh, doing arts and crafts in fourth grade when it was on the airwaves in 2002.

In reacting to the video, I’m torn between the critic in me who’s not at all impressed by their singing voices, and the human who says “But all of us are bad at karaoke! That’s the fun of it.” So you’re off the hook for now, guys. According to TMZ, they didn’t even stay past midnight — probably had a much swankier party to go to.

So I did hear right! In her response video to her fall at the CMT Awards, Shania Twain mentioned doing her own stunts for Thelma & Louise. What she was talking about was her skit for the awards show with Taylor Swift, where they play two best friends killing hicks, pranking police, and picking up hitchhikers. Cameos include country music stars and other celebrities: Keep an eye out for Kid Rock and Chord Everstreet, channeling 1991 Brad Pitt.

It’s rare that I review something that I actually like, since it’s so much easier to be funnier and witty about things that suck. And you know what? That’s just lazy. So in the holiday spirit, I picked up Music, Andrew Zuckerman‘s beautiful hardcover photography book filled with these intensely personal portraits of 50 famous musicians – ranging from Karen O. to Laurie Anderson, Russell Simmons to Trey Anastasio – and accompanied by lengthy, insightful interviews of the artists talking about their craft.

It’s the kind of book that you want to buy a coffee table for, just to put it on. And I never thought I’d say this, but Kid Rock is pretty damn insightful.

Video: Kid Rock Thinks American Idol (And Steven Tyler) Have No Credibility

FOX’s hit series American Idol may have made a major publicity coup when it convinced musicians Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler to sign on as celebrity judges for its next season, but some people are pretty vocal about their displeasure with the decision. Notably, Kid Rock thinks Aerosmith’s lead singer made a huge mistake joining the show. In an interview on Fuse this weekend, Kid Rock reiterated his disdain with American Idol, saying “I don’t think there’s any bigger curse in life than to be famous with no money.”

It’s an interesting video, mostly because Kid Rock unabashedly takes a dig on Stephen Tyler, but also, because of his opinions on the show.

American Idol has an audience of 30 million people, but Kid Rock has notably kept his songs off the show. As he says:

“I’d like to speak to the 270 million who don’t watch that bullshit.”

No Paris & Kid Rock Love Connection

Paris Hilton is slamming rumors that claim she is dating Kid Rock, even though they were spotted together recently.

Hilton, whose ex-partner Rick Salomon has just married the former Baywatch star, was spotted partying with Rock in Toronto, Canada at the weekend, which led to speculation that the pair were more than just friends.

A spokesperson for Hilton said: “She went to his show in Toronto with some friends and to the after-show party. They are absolutely not dating.”
