Natalie Portman Is Adorably Pregnant, Eating Again

Natalie Portman‘s eating habits during the filming of Black Swan made us a little nervous. Especially when she started talking about how much she liked the discipline and 40 hour per week workouts necessary for playing the part of a ballerina. But now that she’s knocked up and engaged to Benjamin Millepied, it looks like she’s taking things a little easier.

And we can get over how adorable, friendly and normal she looks.

The demands and pressures put on women in Hollywood are so great that many actresses end up leaning toward the high strung, anorexic end of the spectrum. But when they’re pregnant, that’s a lot harder to pull off. Also, pregnant ladies get to eat whatever they want. Even if they’re famous!

Check out this pic of Natalie. She’s walking around in a totally nonsense outfit while walking her dog. And she looks so… nice! It definitely looks like pregnancy will suit her.

Which reminds us. There are a lot of celebrities we prefer when they’re pregnant. Like Jennifer Connelly, who usually looks too skinny and unhappy, but is proudly eating up food now that she’s pregnant again. Last night on The Late Show, she confessed:

“I have to stand in one spot in my apartment to make a phone call. It was like that with nausea. I had to stand in one spot, which happened to be in front of my refrigerator, which was open with me dipping pretzels in cream cheese and stuffing them in my mouth.”

Come on. That’s adorable!

The media is all abuzz today about a new study that says romantic comedies can have an adverse effect on dating and relationships. The findings essentially say that watching too many rom-coms with your beau will result in idealistic and unrealistic expectations and that we ladies will end up expecting every love story to end happily-ever-after.

Uhhhh, newsflash, DUH. Where have these people been for the last thirty years? Of course romantic comedies give us unrealistic expectations, that’s the point. Seriously, go spend your research dollars elsewhere please. There are plenty of diseases to cure.

On that note, it’s a good day to sacrifice your relationship in the name of sappiness on the silver screen, isn’t it? Here are 10 rom-coms that should do the trick.

1. Knocked Up

Because some shlubby stoner is not suddenly going to become the man of your dreams after he impregnates you. This one goes for dudes too. To all the shlubby stoners out there — Katherine Heigl is not going to have your baby.

Jay Baruchel Opens Up On Being ‘Batshit Crazy’

“I sound like a nerdier Christian Slater. And I look like James Franco’s drug-addict brother,” Jay Baruchel tells GQ in this month’s issue of the magazine. Jay, who you’ll remember from playing the nerdy guy in Knocked Up, Tropic Thunder and She’s Out of My League, now stars as, you guessed it–the nerdy guy in now-playing The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. He acts alongside Nicolas Cage in the summer flick, who he describes as being “as fucking batshit crazy as I am.”

As for being typecast, Jay seems okay with it, but a little offended about studios not thinking he’s cute. “It’s always flattering when someone offers you a movie, especially the lead in a movie,” Jay says. “But then to read the script and see the constant references to how repulsive I am? The stage direction is just rife with all this stuff about how fucking disgusting I am. One can’t help but get a wee bit insulted.”

Well Jay, we think you’re adorable!

Katherine Heigl And Her Husband Go For A Stroll

Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley went for a what was supposed to be a leisurely and quiet stroll in Hollywood when they were ambushed by paparazzi. The most shocking part of this story? People actually care about them.

I know, I know, Katherine Heigl is America’s next sweetheart. The poster girl for the romantic comedy, whose star is steadily on the rise and joining the ranks of such epic sweethearts and Julia Roberts and Meg Ryan. The only difference between these starlets? Julia and Meg don’t suck. Now, I’m sure many of you out there are brimming with anger and overflowing with love for Heigl, but don’t tell her that just yet.

This is the same woman that pulled her name out of Emmy contention because she did not feel the writers gave her “good enough” material to work with and then slammed the Grey’s Anatomy producers for making her work long hours, when it was them who were working around her promotional schedule for The Ugly Truth. And to top it all off, she bit the almighty hands of Judd Apatow and (my boyfriend) Seth Rogen, saying that Knocked Up was “sexist” and “portrayed women as shrews.” Katherine, have you forgetten that these are the men that pulled you out of television obscurity to make you a star? I have not seen The Ugly Truth, nor do I intend to because I have half a brain, but I’m willing to bet that a movie about a “hopeless, single woman’s search for love” not only plays up sexual stereotypes, but it also sounds boring… and stupid. That’s the ugly truth.

And that’s for cutting up Seth Rogen. Ain’t no one talkin’ smack about my man.
