A Public Service Announcement Against Jeggings

The great jeggings debate rages on! Sixty British schoolgirls were sent home for trying to pass their leggings off as proper trousers, and their parents are furious. One of the mums felt it unfair her daughter’s education had to suffer over a wardrobe infraction, but I believe there really is no greater lesson that can be learned than “Don’t wear jeggings.”

Because here’s the thing about jeggings. Jeggings don’t actually look like jeans. They look like jeggings! (We get paid per use of “jeggings” here at Crushable. Jeggings, jeggings, jeggings). Jeans leggings are not pants, or a substitute for pants, they are the absence of pants and should be treated as such. In the spirit of banishing jeggings from the face of the earth forever, here’s a list of five items I’d wear before being caught dead in a pair of acid wash leggings:

1. Jorts – I actually really like jorts, which is a pejorative for something that used to just be called cut-offs. I’ll be very sad when summer’s over and I can no longer bring out my favorite pair of once-were-jeans.

2. Fanny Pack - I recently received an email announcing that fanny packs are back, and while I’m not ready to take that without a grain of salt, I can concede that at least the touristy accessory is a functional faux pas.

3. This weird salmon-colored mesh football jersey type thing we got in the mail from American Apparel – It’s weird. And salmony. And sitting in a ball on my desk here at the office. Anybody want it?

4. Boyfriend jeans – Boyfriend jeans don’t fit me because I’m two feet tall, but I’d rather go down looking like an idiot who at least attempted to put on pants.

5. Nothing – That’s right, I’ll say it. I’d rather leave the house in my birthday suit than be seen wearing jeans leggings. I am brave! And dedicated! A true warrior in the anti-jeggings army! (And maybe on my way to getting arrested.)

Wonder Woman Will Now Wear Leggings

Just like the rest of us, Wonder Woman is ditching star-spangled hot pants for boring old leggings. Wonder Woman’s makeover is coming in time for the comic’s 600th issue, 69 years after it was first launched in 1941. Wonder Woman’s long-term outfit consisted of hot pants, a bustier and go-go boots. Now, the comic book artists are trading in the skimpy look for leggings, a studded denim jacket, biker gloves and spurs.

We’re so used to hearing that women today are bearing too much skin, so this is a refreshing counter-example to that (annoying) argument. After all, you know how we feel about studded jackets.

When it comes to Halloween costumes, though, we expect girls will stick to the hot pants.

Lindsay Lohan leaves Bardot

Lindsay Lohan and a few of her friends went to Bardot Night Club in Hollywood Wednesday night. Lindsay seemed pretty happy and smiled a few times even though the paparazzi never let up.

Someone must have spilled their drink on Lindsay while she was there because she Twittered about it.

“So fun when someone spills a STICKY diet cola ALL OVER YOU!!!!!! NOT even regular cola! Diet it GROSS!”

Of course, the paparazzi made a huge deal out of the registration sticker for the car Lindsay gets in being out of date. So hopefully she will have someone take care of that for her.

X17 took video of Lindsay leaving the club and claim the driver almost ran over a photographer when they left. Well, do you think they could move away from the car so they can leave?

Lindsay appears to be wearing a man’s oversided black dress blazer over her white long shirt, a black top, really cute black tights or leggings and black boots.

Finally, here’s a close up of the sexy new photo of Lindsay Lohan modeling for the 6126 Spring Collection.

I had posted a smaller version of this photo from the 6126lifestyle Twitter account a few days ago, so I’m glad we can now see the photo better!

I’ve seen some people say that Lindsay is on a “stripper pole” in this photo. I wouldn’t go that far. It’s a sexy photo, but it’s not a stripper pole.

The yellow figure on the right corner of the photo is the logo for 6126.

New behind-the-scenes 6126 photo of Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan recently completed a photoshoot for her new 6126 leggings line and now 6126 has released a behind-the-scenes look at Lindsay! (Thanks Ivycheang for the tip!)

Of course, this is a photo posted via Twitter from 6126 Lifestyle, so you will have to click it to see it’s full size, but I promise it’s worth it! Lindsay looks amazingly sexy in a yellow and black leotard matched up with black leggings with cut-outs all down the side.

Lindsay shot the 6126 spring campaign with Markus Klinko & Indrani in NY during fashion week… just tweeted a behind scenes pix

The 6126 Lifestyle Twitter account also offered a sneak peek at two other legging designs – a leopard print and Charisma leggings (with side lace panel).

6126 by Lindsay Lohan Fall 2009 Collection

While I was looking yesterday at Lindsay Lohan’s 6126 collection website, I decided to head back over to Revolve, where Lindsay Lohan had recently held a party to celebrate some new designs of her line. And what did I find?! A whole series of new designs!!

The website has listed 8 designs as *new*, presumably from Lindsay’s Fall 2009 collection. Lindsay had tweeted about a fashion convention earlier this month where the collection was showing, but this is the first time we’ve seen the desgins. She had said:

“the new season is BEYOND brilliant! thanks Patrick Auf for designing them w/me! Nice work!”

Lindsay was referring there to friend Patrick Aufdenkamp.

Lindsay Lohan to Host Party at Revolve

Revolve Clothing has decided to celebrate its one-year anniversary by “launching a pop-up store dedicated to all things Lindsay Lohan.” What does this mean? Specifically, that Revolve will be featuring Lindsay’s Sevin Nyne tanning products, two styles of 6126 leggings designed just for Revolve (sounds like *new* styles!), and will be holding a special party hosted by Lindsay!

Lindsay Lohan will host a private party at Revolve on August 28th from 7-11pm. The pop-up store will remain a la Lohan until September 6th.
