One designer is James Lillis of Black Milk Clothing. He says on his blog that Lindsay’s “diamond” leggings are similar to his “Sheer Spartans.”

And a Jen Kao spring collection design looks similar to Lindsay’s “Deserve” dress sketch, WWD reported. Lindsay did have knowledge of that dress because she wore it to a party not too long ago (pictured in this post). In my opinion, it looks alike, but is still different.

“While we are all well aware that being ‘mimicked’ or ‘copied’ has always existed in this industry, I think the evolution of it all has grown to an alarming level. It’s a shame to support the concept of taking advantage of designers who are still trying to develop a name and solidify the image of their design aesthetic,” Kao told WWD.

6126 President Kristi Kaylo say the  claims have no merit:

“The alleged ‘copying’ claims made by these companies are false and have absolutely no merit or validity whatsoever. Any alleged similarities are purely coincidental. The 6126 illustrations for the upcoming fall 2010 collections do not even describe the fabric content, fit or actual construction details of the garments. This is merely an accusation based upon a pencil sketch with no concrete viable evidence to back up the allegations,” Kaylor told WWD.

I hope Lindsay and the 6126 people can get everything straightened out. Lindsay’s expanded design is a big deal, but controversy isn’t ideal.

Making matters worse is timing. Earlier this week, Lindsay accused her ex-friend Patrick of stealing her designs.

Lindsay Lohan accused of copying designs

Lindsay, her sister Ali Lohan and Patrick have spent the past few days since New Year’s Eve hanging out on the Caribbean island of St. Barth.

But somewhere between Saturday and Sunday, something must have went down. According to US magazine, Lindsay found out that Aufdenkamp allegedly stole sketches for new 6126 line of leggings.

What makes this a bigger deal is that it was just announced that Lindsay’s 6126 leggings line would be expanded to a full clothing collection in fall 2010.

“He is now running off trying to do his own line… And telling people he’s going to fashion market week in NYC on February 18 to debut his line,” a source told UsMagazine.com.

When Gossip Cop asked Lindsay if it was true, she confirmed the story.

“He’s a user. I wish I’d known,” Lindsay told Gossip Gop.

According to the US Magazine source, Patrick has always used her, even though she’s been warned not to trust him.

“She didn’t want to believe how bad Patrick’s energy was, and how false his friendship has always been with her,” the source told US Magazine.

Lindsay reportedly spoke to UsMagazine.com about the incident.

“I should’ve known better,” Lindsay told the magazine. “But new year for me and a new beginning! Health, happiness, success and love!”

Meanwhile, Patrick hasn’t responded to stories but has Tweeted about it.

“Everyone will know the truth soon enough. And I mean Everything…! En route traveling home,” Patrick Tweeted earlier today.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Lindsay has to deal with Michael Lohan-like repercussions from this. Is he going to sell all of her secrets or release an audio tape?

If you go back a little further on Patrick’s Twitter page, he Tweeted at 5:42 a.m. Jan. 3 (Sunday):

But the picture no longer exists.

I wonder what “truth” we will be learning from Patrick.

Meanwhile, I feel sorry for Lindsay that there are people in the world who only use her for her celebrity status.

Did Lindsay Lohan's pal Patrick steal her designs?

Apparently, Lindsay is expanding to a contemporary apparel line for fall 2010, according to WWD, with more brand extensions set for 2011 that will include cosmetics, handbags and more! (View some of the designs)

On Twitter Tuesday, Lindsay said she needed more Twitter followers for this very reason.

“i need MORE followers i am so sad about this, how can i tell everyone about my 6126 full collection COMING OUT! all clothing.”

Kristi Kaylor from 6126 LLC in Beverly Hills, and Henri Levy of Los Angeles’ DNAM Apparel, which will manufacture the line under license, spoke to WWD about the expansion.

“We’ve had amazing success with the leggings line,” Kaylor told WWD. “We have a great business with Neiman Marcus and several hundred great specialty stores. [DNAM Apparel] was the perfect partner to work with 6126 and grow it as a lifestyle brand. We’re launching the full clothing collection next year, and a cosmetics line, handbags, shoes, jewelry in spring 2011.”

The fall 2010 apparel line will include 100 pieces with the spring 2011 line expected to have 150 pieces. Prices will wholesale ranging from $18 for basic leggings to $300 for a leather jacket, WWD said. Average retail price points will fall between $100 and $150. The 6126 leggings currently retail from $68 to $120, WWD said.

“It’ll be a young contemporary price point with contemporary styling,” Kaylor told WWD. “We’re conscious of it in the sense that we have great price points and quality products. The vision is to offer customers something that they don’t have in the marketplace today, items that go back with leggings: blazers, dresses and tops.”

The line will retail at places such as Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom and specialty stores nationwide, plus Harrods, Lane Crawford, Kitson Japan and Isetan internationally, WWD reported.

Kaylor estimated sales of $3 million a year for the leggings, while Levy estimated the clothing collection’s sales will be $10 million wholesale in the first 12 months, WWD said.

According to WWD, Lindsay filmed an episode of Bravo’s Double Exposure, set to air in January, as a way to advertise the new expansion. Two photographers featured on the show covered her shooting 6126’s spring 2010 campaign. Some of the photos will be used to launch the apparel line.

Kaylor told WWD that Lindsay is a “hands-on partner” working with designers in her apartment earlier this month and throwing a working lunch for the design team at E. Baldi restaurant in Beverly Hills.

“She’s not a celebrity who lends her name to a brand,” Kaylord told WWD. “She’s intimately involved from Day One. She picks fabrics. She looks at trims. She picks buttons. She doesn’t let anything go into production without trying it on.”

My reaction? Lindsay has been planning this for a while it seems and I’m pretty excited that the news is coming out now! Now things are beginning to make sense – her Twitter comment, the lunch at E. Baldi’s, etc. I’m curious to see Lindsay on Double Exposure.

Lindsay looks really good in these photos and I think her gray dress is adorable. Her only problem is in the other photos, you can see the snags in her black tights. Maybe they are like that on purpose?

Lindsay Lohan hosts 6126 holiday party

Out of more than 200 entries, Lindsay narrowed the contest down to one sketch from Candice Aman of California! In addition to receiving $1,000, Aman’s design will be added to Lindsay’s Spring 6126 collection.

Aman’s design is a high-waisted black modal tear-away with gold studs.

When asked about her design inspiration, Aman told FabSugar:

“I was inspired by a type of tracksuit bottoms that I had when I was younger. They unbutton all the way up along the sides and I thought that a leggings design utilizing this idea would be interesting. I also wanted to incorporate hardware in the design so I made buttons! I mean, everything is better with studs and grommets,” Aman said.

I had posted a smaller version of this photo from the 6126lifestyle Twitter account a few days ago, so I’m glad we can now see the photo better!

I’ve seen some people say that Lindsay is on a “stripper pole” in this photo. I wouldn’t go that far. It’s a sexy photo, but it’s not a stripper pole.
