Lindsay appeared in a Beverly Hills court Friday after the alcohol education program she had been attended sent a letter to Superior Court Judge Marsha N. Revel saying Lindsay had not been attending classes.

Lindsay was ordered to appear in court to attend a progress report hearing based on the charges that she didn’t finish the classes. Lindsay reportedly was an hour and a half late for court.

Lindsay’s attorney explained that the actress took the time off to make a movie in Texas (Machete), which she recently finished up.

The judge extended her probation by one year so she could make up the classes she missed and warned her to notify the court before any more absences. I hope Lindsay takes the judge’s remarks seriously.

Lindsay hasn’t completed 11 of her 26 court-ordered classes and must get those classes completed within the next year. A follow-up court date was set for Dec. 15, according to Access Hollywood.

Lindsay was arrested in 2007 for DUI. Cocaine was also found in the vehicle, according to police.

In August 2007, Lindsay pleaded no contest to the charges. She was sentenced to three years probation, spent 24 hours in jail and was also ordered to attend an 18-month alcohol education program for drunk driving, reckless driving and driving under the influence of cocaine, FOX news said.

According to TMZ, Lindsay’s appearance has to do with whether or not she has been living up to the terms of her probation from her and it may be about her court-ordered alcohol education classes. Linday pled no contest to DUI in 2007.

E! Online said reports show the court order was issued without a warrant during a routine progress check (good!).

It is possible that if the judge determines Lindsay violated the terms of her probation, it could be revoked and Lindsay could end up in jail. But let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

And it’s possible that this court date has nothing to do with her probation — so we will just have to wait and see on Friday.

Back in January, Lindsay almost violated her probation because she didn’t update her address and was summoned to court — I wonder if this could be the problem again?
