We’ve all heard the story. A cute couple moves in together. They settle in quickly, have a lovely house-warming party, and start riding their tandem bike to work every single morning. All seems well for the first two months. Then, suddenly, they’re sleeping in separate beds, fighting over who the cat loves more and counting down the seconds till their lease expires.
How did this happen? Weren’t they college sweethearts? Didn’t they survive through cultural differences, double unemployment and at least one count of infidelity? Well, they probably just couldn’t agree on a color of trashcan for the kitchen, or whether or not to have a rug in the living room.
Yep, it’s silly and tragic but couples call it quits all the time over nit-picky little problems. So here are two things you should avoid fighting over, unless you wish to suffer a fate worse than death: resentful cohabitation. More »
It began with an awkward encounter at a coworker’s BBQ. Then it escalated to a meet up at Starbucks where he ordered a chocolate chip cookie with milk and you naively assumed those were NOT two of his food groups. Now, despite countless quibbles and against all odds, it’s two and a half years later, and you lame little birds have found yourself in a full-fledged relationship. More »

Dear Glee,
There’s no easy way to say this. We’ve had some wonderful times together. But I can’t kid myself anymore. I’m the only one in this relationship putting in any effort. And two years is a long time to feel that way. So I’m breaking up with you. More »
While I normally find public proposals a little weird (no more Jumbotron proposals, everyone, please!), this one was pretty adorable. A guy named Matt took his girlfriend, Ginny, to a screening of Fast Five. But instead of getting the usual previews, Ginny saw a clip where Matt asked her father for his permission to marry Ginny. We’re all familiar with the concept of the high-profile celebrity romance; powerful marketing tools, these sorts of romances keep your name in the papers, and regardless as to whether the news is good or bad, press is press. But for every Alex Pettyfer, Dianna Agron, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart, there are also loads of celebrity couples that manage to fly under the radar, and while the relationships may therefore be lesser known, they are no less amazing. Here are twelve of our favorite awesome but lesser-known celebrity marriages: More »
Earlier this week, Simon Cowell announced that he wants to hire Cheryl Cole as one of the judges for his soon-to-be-launched US edition of X Factor. Though Cheryl is a huge star in the UK, she’s pretty much an unknown in the States. Sometime during my sophomore year, a terrible thing happened: I needed to use a hairbrush. I’d accidentally left mine at my boyfriend’s place, so I had no choice but to borrow my roommate’s brush off her bedroom dresser. To most female roommates, this would not be a big deal, but to her, it was a major privacy violation. I knew how she felt about people going in her room, so I quickly popped in, ran the brush through my hair once, and popped back out. I felt like I’d committed a felony, but I had no regrets. That is, until I got home and found her sitting in the living room with her brush on the coffee table. More »

I used to date Bill Hader. He’s hilarious and everything, but ultimately we broke up because he realized that I was actually in love with his Saturday Night Live character, Stefon, and not with him. Though my relationship with Billfon only lasted a few minutes, those were a great couple of minutes. But I woke up to find that Billfon was gone and my actual boyfriend, who would be upset if I left him for Bill Hader but would probably want to come along if I left him for Stefon, was there. More »
