Madonna-Bashing Blog ‘The Lady Gaga Project’ Is A Fake And Has Been Shut Down

Last week, I stumbled upon an alleged Lady Gaga fansite that promised to pay “little monsters” (her fans) to post negative comments about Madonna‘s music, movies, and body on the internet. But over the weekend, one blogger revealed that The Lady Gaga Project is a fake.

Singer and blogger Super Amanda reached out to us because the people behind the project have been impersonating her; the original blog post thanks “Little Monster Super Amanda for suggesting we do this in the first place. PAWS UP!” (Most ironic is that she doesn’t even seem to be a huge fan of either performer; her blog is dedicated to British filmmaker Ken Russell.)

Super Amanda has spent the last few days taking legal action against the creators of the Lady Gaga Project blog, and she’s even put forward the fascinating theory that it’s a bunch of pro-Madonna fans who started this up. The whole explanation is on her blog, but we’ve excerpted it here. Her reasoning is that pro-Madonna fans wanted to make it look like Gaga’s people were trying to bring Madonna down, thus giving her more sympathy and support. That’s twisted.

As previously stated, I have a psychotic Madonna fan stalking me who can’t accept I dislike their talentless corporate icon. You can see a few of their sick comments in the recent threads below telling me to “kill myself”. They impersonate me on Salon, Huffington Post, Perez Hilton, Facebook, You Tube, IndieWire and many other websites. It has been going on for about a year or so. As a US Born , US citizen , I FULLY support their right to LEGALLY say whatever they want about me, mock me, lampoon me, call me names etc but falsely claiming I’m a “criminal” and impersonating me is ILLEGAL.

…It is such an obvious Crypto-madonna fan blog that it is a joke. They are libellously claiming that I, Super Amanda, suggested they “offer money for negative madonna posts”. A TOTAL LIE! The give away is that they are asking for Huffington Post comments. (Sorry, NO ONE under 30 wastes their time on Huffington Post).

…I am one of the only bloggers to criticize Madonna using their real name.

The site has since been shut down, and the Twitter account (@GagaProject2012) is no longer functional. Unfortunately, Gaga herself has not responded to this fan drama over Twitter. It’s come and gone without her seemingly being aware of it.

M.I.A Channels A Middle Schooler And Flicks Off The Country

Just because Madonna didn’t strip naked on stage or perform a provocative song such as “Like A Virgin,” doesn’t mean that the Super Bowl halftime show was without controversy. Notorious pop rebel M.I.A flashed her middle finger at the camera for a hot sec and now everyone in the Internet world is absolutely giddy with excitement over this year’s showstopping scandal.

Except it wasn’t a showstopper. Until the Internet made it one. Blame it on the food I was shoveling into my mouth, but I didn’t even notice it until I started reading about it online later in the game. And all I have to say about the entire incident is “cool M.I.A,” you really stuck it to the man. You showed us who’s boss!

Even though I don’t think the middle finger is obscene enough for an apoogy, NBC and NFL Sports have already done just that:

NBC Sports issued an apology and called the moment a “spontaneous gesture” — a phrase that might go down in history alongside “wardrobe malfunction.” “We apologize for the inappropriate gesture that aired during halftime,” the network said in a statement. “It was a spontaneous gesture that our delay system caught late.”

The NFL apologized too, but placed the blame squarely on NBC: “There was a failure in NBC’s delay system. The obscene gesture in the performance was completely inappropriate, very disappointing, and we apologize to our fans.”

Janet Jackson‘s infamous nip slip was a scandal worthy of conversation (and I guess apology) because people usually don’t walk around slipping you their nipple. Someone flipping off a camera is not conversation worthy. Steal a cab from someone in New York and you’ll get the finger. Interrupt a middle schooler while she’s in the middle of a Facebook chat and you’ll get the finger. Try to convince my grandmother to get off of AOL dial-up and you’ll get the finger — as well as a string of expletives.

The finger is not scandalous and I think it’s super lame that M.I.A chose to do it. If you’re going to do something crazy to get headlines, be brave and do something that’s worthy of us talking about it. Strip naked. Dry hump Cee Lo. Start doing the Macarena. Anything but a sly flip of the finger.

Well America’s coolest Mom, Madonna, just wrapped up her much anticipated Super Bowl Halftime show without slipping a nip or twisting an ankle on the bleachers (yeah Madge, we saw that). With the help of LMFAO, M.I.A, Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo, the cast of Drumline, and the extras from the Sister Act musical, she covered “Vogue,” “Music,” “Like a Prayer” and her newest song “Give Me All Your Luvin.”

Considering that she’s approaching Boniva-endorsement age, she did a pretty good job. The inclusion of younger, and some might say more hip, artists helped to bring a little more excitement to the stage. And the World Peace light-up message at the very end was a nice touch.

In fact, my only real complaint with her performance was the fact that she allowed Cee Lo to perform next to her wearing a sequined snuggie. I’m not asking him to wear a tux, but I am asking him to recognize the line between comfort and appropriate performance attire. Also the line between a splash of sequins and a tidal wave of sequins. One says I’m trendy and the one says I rode a BeDazzler to this game.

I would say the best judge of appropriate vs. inappropriate would be going by my high school dress code. Does it have a zipper fly and does it have leg holes? If not, take off the robe and put on some pants.

Video: Madonna Makes M.I.A. And Nicki Minaj Her Cheerleaders In ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’

Madonna‘s video for the annoyingly spelled “Give Me All Your Luvin” dropped today, and besides being one huge commercial for the Superbowl, it criminally under-utilizes guest rappers M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj. Oh, Madge.

The video depicts the 53-year-old performer inexplicably frolicking with a bunch of football players while Nicki and Maya literally cheer her on, pleated skirts, pom poms and all. How Madonna got M.I.A. to dress up as a cheerleader is anyone’s gue$$, but her face betrays her lack of enthusiasm for the endeavor.

The best part by far comes when M.I.A. and Nicki each spit out a brief verse, but it’s over way too quickly. Despite being dressed in a ridiculous combination of Madonna’s “Material Girl” and “Like a Virgin” outfits, each woman has the presence and personality necessary to overcome the layers of subservience Madonna has swaddled them in. (M.I.A. in particular looks like she wants to use her make-believe gun to slaughter everyone around her.) Is Madonna really that much of a diva that she can’t let someone else upstage her for more than a few seconds? And without wearing an unflattering blonde wig?

On the other hand, she might be right to be scared of them. These two artists are peddling something much fresher than anything Madge has created in years, and the more she lets them do, the more painfully obvious this becomes. It seems like she’s taken the maxim “if you can’t beat them, give them a small part in your music video and Superbowl halftime show” to heart.

Update: Thank you to blogger Super Amanda for reaching out to us: It turns out the blog is a total fake supposedly run by pro-Madonna fans.

The rivalry between Lady Gaga and her obvious influence Madonna seems to have been simmering since January, when both performers acknowledged Madge’s influence on the “Born This Way” singer. Though the two have remained fairly civil, their fans are still carrying on the battle. And now with the Super Bowl approaching on Sunday, Gaga’s “little monsters” are preparing to strike.

ONTD found this bizarre blog called The Lady Gaga Project, which put out a call yesterday asking for Gaga fans who would be willing to bash Madonna on the internet. They’re asking fans to log on to Huffington Post, Towleroad, People, USA Today, and more and post negative comments going after everything from Madonna’s new “Gimme All Your Luvin’” video to her film W.E. to her muscular arms. Kids will get paid 5-10 cents per pageview.

It’s kind of scary how much they’ve thought this through:

Your comments must be at least five sentences long and cover one of the following topics:

1. Madonna’s new single is flopping. It’s getting bad reviews.
2. Madonna is a has-been. Lady Gaga is more current.
3. “WE” is getting really bad reviews.
4. Madonna is a copycat, not Lady Gaga.
5. Madonna’s Super Bowl show was awful.
6. Madonna’s body parts (mostly her grotesque arms).

The horrible irony is, a few months ago Gaga announced the establishment of an anti-bullying foundation, Born This Way. Obviously Madonna isn’t vulnerable in the same way as a misunderstood LGBT youth, but the principle still stands. Although Gaga hasn’t yet responded to her fans’ crazy plan, in an interesting bit of timing she did scold them yesterday for insulting a teenager who had committed suicide in her “defense.” She tweeted:

Tweets about a 14 yr olds suicide in order to take a jab at me? Consider your integrity making fun at a dead child’s pain.

Direct your insults @ladygaga, I can take it. Don’t bring in those who are not alive anymore to defend themselves. Be braver than that.

I imagine the same advice stands for Madonna. This isn’t such surprising behavior, considering how passionate Gaga’s fanbase is. After all, this is the group that faked one fan’s death so that Gaga would tweet at her. But for the most part, Gaga welcomes this enthusiasm and love; that’s her crowd-surfing and straddling one lucky fan at Lollapalooza in the photo. Here’s hoping she nips this thing in the bud over Twitter as soon as possible.

The Superbowl’s finally here! This means that not only will Americans consume more wings and subs and dips than ever thought possible, but also that Madonna will emerge from her cocoon of everlasting youth to grace us with her presence at the halftime show. While I’m horrified of the thought of one of her arms flying off into the crowd when she gyrates with a back-up dancer born the same year as Lourdes, I’m excited to see her back in action. I mean, it’s Madonna, everyone loves her music and/or has danced drunkenly to it.

While you already know she’s a pop singer extraordinaire, I bet you didn’t that she’s also a love guru. Her lyrics are full of wonderful advice and maybe if we all take it, we’ll have our very own baby-faced boyfriend by Valentine’s Day.

10 Tour Rider Requests More Demanding Than Nicki Minaj’s

Yesterday’s publication of Nicki Minaj‘s tour rider prompted many people to brand her an overly demanding diva, but I think it’s actually quite reasonable, especially for one of the highest grossing entertainers in the world. Between the scrambled egg whites, fruit plates, meat plates, fried chicken, salad, and silverware with which to eat it all, it seems like most of Ms. Minaj’s requests are a.) relatively inexpensive and easy to obtain, and b.) things she and her friends are actually going to use and/or consume. She’s certainly lower-maintenance than some of her peers. Here are ten tour rider requests much more extreme than Nicki Minaj’s.

On This Groundhog Day Let’s See What Other Predictions Punxsutawney Phil Has For Us

If Punxsutawney Phil could talk he’d probably tell all those men in top hats to back the fuck off and leave him the hell alone.

Every February 2nd the mildly crazy people of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania gather around their beloved Phil before sunrise and wait to see whether the little devil is going to see his shadow. No shadow means spring is on its way, while if he does see his shadow then we must endure six more weeks of winter. Well, in case you were wondering, the furball saw his shadow this morning, so six more weeks it is. Although based on the weather these last few days, Phil might be losing his touch.

Phil has been making these predictions since 1887 with, according to the StormFax Weather Almanac, an accuracy rate of only 39%. But that percentage doesn’t seem to affect the tradition nor does it shake the legend that’s it’s been the same Phil who’s been doing all these prediction for the past 120+ years.

How does a groundhog that has a maximum lifespan of six years in the wild and 10 years in captivity manage to live so long? Groundhog Elixir, of course. Each summer, so as to keep himself alive and kicking and making predictions, Phil is given a sip of the Elixir that is comprised of “mostly of orphan blood, which magically lengthens his life for seven years.” This is distributed by the Inner Circle members of the Groundhog Club, which is safe to assume are those men in the top hats.

OK.

But instead of keeping his predictions to just seasons, let’s see what other insight Phil has to offer.
