Times New Viking (who have one of my favorite band names ever) have a new album coming out on September 22 called Born Again Revisted. Naturally, they are going on tour. This includes three New York-area dates:

Chapel Hill-based band Roman Candle are on tour and are in NYC now to play three shows with The Deep Vibration. Tonight (Friday) they are at Pianos and tomorrow (Saturday) they will be at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ. The shows are presented by Paste Magazine and WOXY–pretty good pedigree. Yo La Tengo have a tradition of playing eight shows at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ–their hometown–on the eight nights of Hannukah every year. The shows usually feature special guests and great openers and this year’s shows were no different.
