I have been waiting for this video all weekend, but here it is: TV Guide covered PaleyFest 2009, and posted some red carpet interviews with the cast. He asks each of them what’s in store for their characters this season– except for poor Maria Lark. He just asks her what happened to her ankle. Here response? “Too many Shirley Temples. I’m just a closet drinker.” Man, I wish I were as cool as she is.

TV Guide also posted an interview with Patricia Arquette, that had some spoilers for season 6. More on that after the jump.

Basically, the stuff that Arquette talks about are all things we basically already knew, or at least suspected. For instance, Joe won’t be commuting to California any longer.

“Joe’s had to give up this job. He was working in California, commuting back and forth, and he kind of had to walk away. She obviously hasn’t been working. And then physically, Allison been going through a lot of changes, trying to learn to how to rehab, not having these gifts, figuring out who she’s going to be in the world. So they’re going through a lot of internal changes and external changes.”

It also seems like Ariel’s haircut is due more to teenage rebellion than solidarity to with her mother. In addition to the smoking and getting arrested (!) that she alludes to in the video, Vassilieva also says,

“Ariel’s also changed as a person. She’s not necessarily the bubbly Ariel we’ve all come to know – she’s the caretaker now. So it’s a little bit different of a personality that she’s expressed through her hair.”

I know a lot of you have been very vocal about not wanting to see more drama with Joe’s job, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to be ending any time soon. However, it doesn’t seem as though it’s going to be a focus– Ariel looks as though she’ll be keeping the DuBois family more than occupied in the near future.

Kids– they grow up so fast.

So of course Ariel isn’t actually a murderous stripper this season, but in the second episode of the season, she may be possessed by one. Daemon’s TV has the first picture from 6×02 titled, “Who’s That Girl,” in which Allison believes that Ariel is possessed by a murdered stripper who is now trying to exact revenge against her killer.

Sofia Vassilieva has a bit of a higher profile now, since starring with Cameron Diaz in My Sister’s Keeper this summer, so I’d bet the writers are going to give her a little more to do this season. As much as I love what Ariel brings to the show in terms of the DuBois family dynamic, it’ll be fun to see a darker side to her.

Patricia Arquette

My favorite part though, has to be when CBS asks if they’re happy being part of the Friday night lineup (which includes Ghost Whisperer at 8 and Numb3rs at 10). Both actors get subtle digs in to NBC. Patricia says, “It feels like the first time we’ve actually had programming that made sense for us.” Jake’s dig is a little less subtle: he simply says, “I’m definitely grateful that I have a job, I’m grateful that the show is coming back, and I’m grateful that it has found its original home.”

“It’s going to sort of be the landscape of her dreams during that particular episode.”

Patricia shares that she’s not sure how the episode will work, but it sounds like some of the original clips will be used throughout the episode.

Patricia shared that she was excited about the tie-in, saying she loved the movie. Patricia herself got her big break in horror, filming A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 – Dream Warriors.

Any scoop on Medium and how it might change now that it’s switched to CBS? — Antioch
MICKEY: “I guess I can let the cat out of the bag: [Allison] comes out of the coma,” jokes Medium executive producer Glenn Gordon Caron. He explained that he half-seriously wrote the medical cliff-hanger to stave off cancellation. Now that the show is safely ensconced on Friday nights with soul-sister Ghost Whisperer, this season will deal with the aftermath of Allison’s health problems, and how it alters her gift. Look for Marc Webb, director of (500) Days of Summer, to helm an upcoming episode, though not the zombie one.

I’ll do a post just about that zombie episode, don’t worry! And next, more hands on details from the TCA panel about Medium from EW. Word is that Medium will be “getting back into the horror business,” in reference to the zombie-horror classic episode I’ll share in the next post.

Also coming up this season: an episode directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer), and possibly an episode directed by David Arquette – and maybe a guest appearance too! Patricia shared she’d love to get Alexis Arquette on the show.

Patricia shares that Allison will have some effects because of the brain tumor, which will be seen in the “first few episodes.”

“[Her dreams] are not showing up exactly the same way, and she’s not even sure if they will, and it’s been several months.”

And about Patricia’s hair? It was cut because of the tumor – she didn’t want to wear shorter wigs for the show.

Patricia also shared that they are currently filming episode 2 of the season. She shared a few tidbits about Sofia Vassilieva, and how the kids growing up changes the series:

“We’re only on our second episode right now, but there are aspects of this episode that we’re just finishing where Ariel [Sofia Vassilieva] is kind of breaking away and testing the boundaries as a teenager. And then the littlest one, she’s getting much more comfortable memorizing. And [she's] getting more dialog. She’s getting more comfortable with her scholastic skills, so she’s taking on more.”

Also, the story line for episode 6.02 has come out! Spoilers after the jump!

In the second episode of the season, Allison is investigating the killing of a young stripper “whose need for revenge is so great that she has found a willing conduit for her restless soul…” From what I can tell of the casting info, the young stripper is named Elena and she was also a college student. Elena was blackmailing a married man, Kevin, who grew tried of this opportunistic stripper.

The biggest spoiler of all…. it looks like Ariel may be the “vessel” the vengeful spirit of Elena takes over! Sounds like a very compelling episode!!

In the Season 6 premiere of Medium, Allison is slowly regaining both her physical abilities and her psychic talents. However, when he ‘gift’ returns as deja-vu, it’s more confusing than enlightening to Allison and to the DA. In fact, when she sets out to investigate newscaster Sophie Collen’s alleged stalker, Peter Winant, the visions are more of a hindrance than a help.

Yes, that’s Allison. A very pregnant Allison. And she’s pregnant with her child. You’re thinking you missed a few episodes, right?

Maybe this will give you a clue to figure out what on earth is going on:

Aww. Little Marie’s birthday. Wait. Could Allison have somehow gone back in time five years to when she was pregnant with Marie? Yup. Just days before her birth and Allison…well, our favorite detective and DA don’t give her the warmest reception.

In fact, it looks a lot like she’s in handcuffs, doesn’t it?

Now, she just has to convince Devalos that he’s after the wrong guy. And I assume that if she doesn’t, she and Lee will both still be shot when she returns to the present. Oh, didn’t I mention that part? Yeah, they were shot.

Let’s hope this shot means she’s back with Joe and feeling great by the end of the episode!

Wow. So, looking forward to tonight yet? I know I am.
